Hope it helps and have a great time.

CLEVELAND!

I recommend Tommy's (Coventry Road), Aladdin's (Cedar Rd/Fairmount Blvd), the Mint Cafe (Coventry Road), and on the west side, Johnny Mango (Bridge Ave) and Phnom Penh (West 25th).

There are a number of sushi places, too, and a few Indian restaurants- I recommend Pacific East (Coventry Road) and Cafe Tandoor (South Taylor Road) specifically, although I am not sure how far Cafe Tandoor goes for vegan requests (I'm just vegetarian and the issue hasn't come up).

Boston:

TJ Scallywaggles - All Vegan Pizza and Sub shop - YUM!

Grasshopper is also excellent and right next door to TJ Scallywaggles!

Also the Middle East restaurant (it's also a music venue) in Cambridge has some delicious veggie options on their menu, usually just have to ask for the yogurt sauce on the side (for omni friends to enjoy) or just sans yogurt sauce.

I live in Buffalo, and while we don't have an abundance of veggie friendly eateries, I can make some recommendations: Amy's Place, Tru-Teas, Saigon Cafe, and Off the Wall are all good bets. You can get amazing take-out sushi from a place called Kuni's. None of these are even vegetarian, but you'll do much better than a dry salad and a baked potato! For markets, check out the Lexington Co-op. It has a big hot and cold prepared food bar and all that as well. Also, I work there, so I'm a bit partial.  ;) Happy touring, and let me know if you want any more specifics about B-lo.

i have to second TJ's (so deeeeelish!)  and Grasshoppers in boston.
also, there is Buddah's delight in boston (chinatown)
                    3 beech st. (2nd floor/ corner of washington st.)....617 451 2395.

there is a few other places around, club passim, country life, etc.... and a load of whole foods around boston (though you may have to sell your arm to afford to eat there!)
you can check out www.happycow.net or vegdining.com for other listings.

are you driving  down the mass pike? i live just over the line from ny (exit 2 on mass pike) and there is nothing easily accesible for a looooooooooooooong way, so just be warned. the only thing around here is a natural foods store ....which is veeery small (clover's in Lee, ma). wave when you drive by!  :)

excellent, lots of places on the list

worst comes to worst I can hit up a supermarket for fruits and nuts and such, or in dire needs, a subway sandwich place

New York City- Check out Teany, amazing vegan option & good drinks.

Boston- a second vote for Grasshopper (in Allston), also try Buddha's or Buddha's 2  if you're near Chinatown/downtown.

Baltimore- another vote for the Yabba Pot! A great place, and I believe the only fully vegan restaurant in B-more.

The US/Canada border is amazingly unfriendly to small touring bands, they want you to declare all your merch and tax you on it, as well as often times require workers permits for playing there. If anyone has any sort of criminal record, no matter how benign...forget it.

Bands can pull it off, but Ive heard way too many horror stories to not want to risk a leg of the tour on it. I filled in for a Canadian band last Summer and had a blast for 2 weeks. I love Canada and I love Canadians.
