Look at the moon, it's supposed to turn red tonight (early morning).

Really? I'm an insomniac so any night time entertainment is good for me. :)

Why's it do that? I got no extra credit -- or any credit at all -- in astronomy.

I got up at 5 am and dragged myself across campus to stand in a crowded astronomy tower and when I actually got to look in the telescope, I saw nothing. Story of my life. But I imagine it to look like your every day, run of the mill total eclipse

I saw it. I was supposed to stay up and watch, but instead I fell asleep and my mom woke me up to go look at it. So I went all groggy and it was 3/4 way red, and while we were watching it, it continued to get totally red really quickly. That was pretty cool, because I've seen a lunar eclipse before but it didn't happen that quickly. I'm not sure if it actually did get red really quickly or if my groggy self speeded things up. But it was pretty cool either way!

Isn't it the only one of it's kind for like, 350 years or something?
Yeah, which is why I was surprised it didn't much attention at all! I dunno what makes it so special though. The only thing I remember was that it lasted much longer than past lunar eclipses.
