Hey Diver-Di! How goes the second week?

We are both into the second week of watching what we put in our mouths and I thought so much of you--last night I really had the munchies, but I Knew I had had a perfectly good supper! So I allowed myself a spoonful or two of yogurt, but that was it. I spent the evening telling myself I wasn't hungry, not really, that I just knew there were cookies in the cupboard.
How's the smoke-free zone going?
anna
Yabbitgirl, you beat me to it :) I was just about to ask the same thing!
Way to go Anna! Thanks for asking Apstaats!
OK, I am doing great! Day 6, I had a mild cigarette with someone doing work on my place. Stood outside with her and had it. I had had a couple of drinks. I enjoyed it, put it out and that was that! So 5 smoke free days. One cigarette on day 6. None on day 7 and today is a smoke free day 8. Although, I think of cigarettes at different times, I am doing really well.
My new BF is so sweet. I told him I had one and he said he will be supportive and knows I can do it because I want to do it for me. My cough is nearly gone. I am breathing again.
Anna, truly way to go. It is hard to break bad habits and you are doing great.
Apstaats, who would have thought I would give thought to a woman when I am about to kiss a man....but you were dead on. (hee hee hee, not thinking about kissing you...thinking about your encouragement and what you said about smoke free kissing) The kisses are way nicer because I no longer have a gutter mouth!
Thanks guys and lets keep reporting our progress. I am in a state of shock today as I just bought laminate flooring for my place and my AM EX is hurting!!!!!
Hugs

One little slip is no big deal..(I slipped and I didn't quite enjoy it!)...
I went to the Dr. today for a sinus infection, he listened to my lungs and said they are crystal clear, no more wheezing, no ratting nothing!!
way to go!
I really am so flattered to be thought of! I was so happy, I told my husband all about it.
Don't worry about the slip. In fact, I was thinking about you over the weekend, and I thought I'd suggest that you make a pact with yourself that you will never, ever buy cigarettes again. If you happen to slip with a friend's cigarette, that is just one cigarette, but if you buy a whole pack for yourself, you have nineteen more cancer sticks calling out to you!
Anyway, I am really honored to help you, and I am very proud of your progress. Yay for Di!!!
Majicka414, you are doing awesome!!!
And, way to go Anna!!!

Well, you should be flattered. My life has been upside down for a few months. Years.... All of a sudden things are starting to come around..for the good. Some not so good as well as starting to smoke again. None the less, the kick a** support on this board is amazing. You are right about not buying smokes. I thought about it yesterday. Then I thought, can't do it because I will smoke all 25. So just didn't buy any.
Then I was having a little melt down and cry talking on the phone to a friend and in walks my sweetie. Someone was working on the rotting walls and mould and I felt so house bound. He said, let's get out of here and took me out for the afternoon. Although we did very ordinary stuff like going to Costco and a hardware store looking for things needed in my renovations, it was a perfect afternoon and just what I needed. I realized, I don't need cigarettes. I really just need the simple pleasures in life. Good friends, family and of course, the beautiful furred and feathered that share my life. Shopping at a hardware store can be as exciting as riding on a roller coaster. Just depends on your outlook. Yesterday, I realized that!
You have been an inspiration Apstaats!
Now I am curious...how tall are you and how tall is your husband?
I giggled when I saw your pictures because you are just like one of my good friends. She is 5 foot nothing and vowed she would never marry a tall man. Her husband is 6 foot 2 or 3! When the minister said, you may kiss the bride, he took out a little stool for my friend to stand on. Probably one of the cutest things I have ever seen at a wedding.
So, tomorrow, day 9 starts. Things are looking up!
Thanks again,
Di
One of the best parts of my week is going grocery shopping with my husband on the weekends! Last night, we walked down to the river we live by, and it was breathtaking. I agree, simple pleasures are the best!
Holy cow, cigarettes come 25 to a pack now? OK, so that's five more reasons not to buy a pack!
My husband is 6'6" and I am 5'2". Funny thing, just before I read this post, I said goodbye to my husband as he left for work, and I stood on a stool to give him a smooch!
