I feel special... But in a good way ... *jeez*

Tonight a vegan woman came into Carrabba's where where I work and I was able to help her with her dinner dilemma. Other servers were trying to get her to order a salad minus the cheese and dressing and meat, so I piped in and helped her to create her own pasta dish. In the end she decided on angel hair with a crushed tomato, garlic, and basil sauce with lots of fresh sauteed vegetables!!!
:) :) :)
All in all tonight was a good night :)
Have any of you restaurant folk been able to help a fellow veg*n?
How cool is that!?!? I wish you were around when I went out to eat dinner ;D
Congrats, EAMD!
I had a wonderful server help me the other weekend when i was in Lake Geneva create a pasta and veggie dish!
I love when stuff like that happens, I'm so appreciative.
oh, how sweet! I'll bet she was so grateful to not have another "settle-for-a-salad" dining experience. :)
Back when I worked at a Country Kitchen, a couple came in one time wanting to get the soup & salad bar after they saw that the soup of the day was Wisconsin Cheese. They asked the other hostess if the soup had any meat products in it, and she automatically said, "no, it's just cheese, not cheese and meat or anything..." or some dumb response...I was standing at the cashier counter, overheard the conversation, and ran over and immediately told them that the soup did have bacon and chicken stock (Ew!). They thanked me, and left the restaurant. The other hostess looked a little pissed and walked away, mumbling, "whatEVAR..not like they woulda KNOWN about it if you hadn't mumblemumble..."
I'm glad they decided that we wouldn't have been worth their money, rather than me trying to convince them they could still order any of our very few (unhealthy, piddly excuses for a meal) vegetarian options. I knew they were grateful to me for doing what I did.
That's awesome! I hate when I go to a restaurant and I get the standard "you can always get a salad... response..like all I eat is salad...*blerg*
I LOVE working at a vegan place just for this reason. seeing the looks on people's faces as they realize they can eat ANYTHING on the menu, it's priceless. :D
(especially when dessert time rolls around)

AHHH! THIS! This! is why I don't like to eat out! What a bitch! You just increased my paranoia, CW.
I help people out, sometimes, too. I work in a hospital and I help the cooks out when they just want to give someone a salad and fruit. Blerg.
i work in a coffee shop/cafe, and a lot of people ask about different stuff. our chai is made with honey, caramel has milk in it, all torani syrups list "natural flavor" as the third ingredient (ew did you all read that recent vegnews article about natural flavoring?). stuff like that. but people are usually stoked when i make them a super-yummy soy mocha or cappuchino, and let them know that our fruit pies, bagels, salads, and soups are all vegan.

Ah! This reminds me of one of my city's organic shops - which has a pie warmer with ALL VEGAN pastries and pies! Yumbles!! They also have frozen ones to take home for later. :) :) :) :) :)
How cool EAMD! I think you should move an hour or so west to Cumberland and help me pick out food stuffs. ;)
;D
I wish I could but if I'm moving anywhere it is to Tennessee ;)

This reminds me of Sticky Fingers Bakery... *mMmM cake*
That is awesome!
I usually just eat at vegan restaurants, but have a hard time choosing what to eat.
