layla (1 yr) and stripe (24 yrs) used to nap together. this is one month before stripe died and six months before layla and heidi moved out of oklahoma (which is why i was no longer tied to oklahoma and moved to washington).

Also, Layla's gorgeous. It must be so hard to live away from her. I love that you let her pick a tattoo for you . How old is she now?
for some reason, the whole time heidi was pregnant with layla, lotus flowers reminded us of her. so when it came to layla's second birthday (which is when all but the very last picture from where she was three months old were taken) and we were planning on getting "layla" tattoos, it was obvious that we should get lotus flowers.

so layla was two in most of those pictures. that was the last time i got to see her. :( her fourth birthday was yesterday, actually (july 1). until her second birthday, i had never gone more than a couple of months without seeing her even when heidi moved. but once i moved out of my parents and had financial stuff to take care of, i could no longer afford to take flights to michigan every few months. it kills me.
but i do talk to her on the phone, we've webcammed a few times, and i send her care packages all of the time including pictures, letters, toys, and other treats. heidi sends me pictures and i've got an entire layla wall!
we make plans to be able to see each other, but money always gets into the way.
anyone wanna donate to the "keri needs to see layla AND pay rent/bills" fund? haha.
