I've just discovered the new veg group in london, ontario (where I go to school)! the founder just emailed me - put me in their mailing list, invited me out to an organizational meeting (they're just starting out, and are working to get their name known in the city, need to plan, etc.), and told me about their monthly potlucks!
I haven't met anyone yet, but I'm excited! finally, some like-minded people. phew... I was worried I'd be all alone...
london isn't toronto, with its wonderful vegan restaurants and bakeries, but at least we have a veggie society... I'm so happy!
That's awesome Laura :) I'm in southern Niagara & this would be nice. Just being around people who understand & you don't have to defend your choices to, or answer the same old question...'what do you eat?' would be soooo nice.
Hey Laurabs, knew you were a crazy, moosey, mapley Canadian, but I didn't know you were from LONDON. One of my best friends went to and worked at Western. I'll ask her if she knows any veg*ns in the area. Of course, then if you have non-vegweb friends you won't talk to all of us as much :'( j/k!
ha ha - I'll still be on vegweb. it's an addiction. and thanks, if you can get in touch with any veg*ns!

very funny.
Here's from the Western grad:

"Clubs week" is the second week of september, all the clubs at the university have a poster board in the community center to attract members. $5 to join the club for students - but you get a discount at veg freindly restaurants in London.
If she is not a university student - she can email the club members, express her interest and i can't see why they wouldn't just let her come to their meetings/events whatever - most people in the clubs are more about creating a group than creating an exclusive society (not Yale)."
Good luck!
I just found a veggie society too!!! :D They have a pot luck in september but i have to e-mail "Harry".
