Possible rabies exposure?

Two and a half months ago, I picked up a injured kitten on the road. (Not smart, don't know what I was thiinking. Didn't see blood or realize how injured it was at first.) It didn't bite or scratch me and died in my hand within a few minutes. I did get some blood on my fingers and took a shower soon after. Could I have gotten rabies or anything else? I am going to the doctor on Monday to see about getting shots.
You get rabies from infected saliva, by being bitten in such away that the skin is broken. If you got the animal's blood on your hands, and washed it off, I doubt very much that you have anything to worry about.
