Is it me, or have you vegweb folks gone POSTING CRAZY!!!!!!
I can't keep up with all these theads for the life of me!
And I have this fear (because it's all about me ::)) that someone will address me in a post that I haven't read or checked back in on to see what's going on. How RUDE of me!!!!!
Slow down folks. Sheesh. I only have so much time in the day for Vegweb ya know. And I want to read EVERYTHING that EVERYONE writes. It's just a small request...cut back on the posting. Thanks!!! :D ;D :o :P
(Why do I get the feeling that someone somewhere out there is going to think I'm serious about this?)
hahah ;D omg i feel the same way..i can't catch up AT ALL...i feel like i'm missing out on so much stuff too....but at the same time..LOVVVE IT..lol
LOL! I want MORE posts!
(Of course...I could make some myself, which I haven't done. hmmm...)
Me too!!! I want more posts!!! I love everyone's posts and threads on VegWeb (and everyone on VW). VW rocks!!
I'm kinda new here, but totally addicted! I read everything! My friends make fun of me because I talk about stuff I learn on vegweb all the time.
Hey, Veg Web is my life! ;D It's a heckuva lot more fun than Yahoo Answers. Like I say, this is kind of like my "coffee place" where I drop in and spend far too much time--as anyone who as read Galdos' novel "Fortunata and Jacinta" knows, the coffee place is vital to Spanish thinking people! (And of course none of you have probably read it unless you majored in Spanish...the Penguin translation isn't too bad, though.)
<--------- VegWeb addict! (Like you didn't know that! LOL)
I can't keep up either!
It doesn't help that yabbit and I are hours ahead! We go to bed and wake up to a basillion new post in the AM!
I don't read everypost and I forget to go back to the ones I've posted in sometimes! I'm paranoid about seeming rude too though! ack!!!!!
I noticed there are a lot of new people posting lately! Yay!

Well, I don't talk about VegWeb with the folks at work (basically don't have friends other than immediate family and VegWeb family) but I constantly talk about it with Bookpapa and CeltKat. :D And I do agree that it is most difficult to stay caught up. The only way to do that is to check in several times a day and that's not always possible. :P
I am addicted too... Although I don't post everyday, I check this site probably 2 or 3 times a day on average (usually just for a few minutes at a time) just to stay up to date with the postings.... I have learned so much from here, but I do think it is an addiction! lol 8)
If you click on your screenname it takes you to your profile, on the sidebar there's a link to "Last Posts of this Person" but sometimes I talk too much to trawl thru them all, there's also "show new replies to your posts" but that can take some time too.
What I wish Yvette would create is a way to search for all of a particular person's contributed recipes, like say, if you like Dragonfly's uncheese, you could do a recipe-specific "Dragonfly" search and get all of her recipes to go through. I suggested this to admin and was pointed to the "last posts" thing but it isn't what I meant. Ah well.
My participation is way down. I find it hard to follow threads because they drop so quickly. I also miss the feature of responding to any post, instead of to the original post & having to use the quote feature.
I'm also distracted by the great food photos!! I find myself clicking to the recipes all the time.

I agree, I noticed that a search function for recipe authors would be handy.
Well, I'm off to the Oregon Coast for a week leaving tomorrow morning. No doubt by the time I get back I will be INUNDATED with vegweb threads to read! I'm going to be SO overwhelmed! I might have to find an Internet Cafe in the interim! Just to keep up my ADDICTION! (Hi, I'm ShaolinBunny, and I'm a VEGWEBAHOLIC!) Hope everyone has a GREAT week!!!!! I'll miss ya.
ShaolinBunny, that is the cutest dog in your avatar. Is he yours? Do you have a regular sized photo of him?

Yep, I'm the very proud mommy of Angel. Thanks!! I do have a regular sized photo of her on my laptop. I always wonder why the "avatar" photo in a profile cannot be opened into a bigger photo like other "thumbnail" photos in a gallery (I'm so full of complaints lately!). One of these days I'll add my avatar photo to the collection of my other photos so that it can opened up to a normal size.
There is now a "Show recipes submitted by this person." link at the bottom of VegFriends profiles. Please note that recipes added only within the last year or so will be included in this. We still have to go back to all of the old recipes and assign them the appropriate user IDs in order to get them connected with this "Show recipes submitted by this person.".
There is also an option in the "Advanced Search" link on the left to search posts based on the username of the author. This would incude recipes submitted within the last year. Another option is to enter the username of the author in the search box. The results won't necessarily pull up all of the recipes by that person, but it might pull up a majority (which would include ones that were added before a year ago).

Hello Yvette!
Just thought I'd introduce myself properly. I'm the annoying person that complains about acronyms, glossaries, Help pages, etc.! ::) I'm sorry I complain so much--I guess it's the former technical writer in me that causes me to have these stupid standards. I think you're doing a great job, though, and Vegweb is an awesome place, and I would bet a lot of money that much of that is due to your hard work and patience. Thanks for all you do!!!!!!!
Golly, this is like passing notes in class--Admin has eyes in the back of its head, too!!
Just teasing, Yvette! You're the greatest!
Yeah, and I'm like a little kid all sucking up trying to be the teacher's pet. ;D
Just kiddin'--I really love Vegweb and think that anyone who puts time and energy into this site is simply fabulous!
Thanks for the comments!
I think I missed the posts about acronyms and glossaries, but we now have a rudimentary help page going on at: http://vegweb.com/index.php?action=help The link for it is near the bottom left side of pages. It'll be reorganized a bit and added to within the next several days to include VegFriends info, recipe photo info, etc.
