Wedding gift?

my father is getting married today and I really dont support this cuz he cheated on my mom for this (and I dont think it's going to last) but I feel I should get them a small gift- no more than $20...any suggestions?

How about a nice photo album with pics of your family?

All I can say is that you're more magnanimous than I am.  I wouldn't have attended or given a gift if my dad had done to my mom or vice versa.

OH SNAP! that is awesome! I fully support that idea!

Personally I wouldn't attend. But if you feel obligated (or you have to, not sure of your age). I would give him nothing.

I personally wouldn't attend, as my attendance would translate as a tacit endorsement of the marriage.

The wedding is over now, but you may not have gotten a gift yet.  If you wanted to get them something and make a statement with it, I'd get them a vegan cookbook.  On the statement side:  cookbooks are very impersonal.  On the practical side:  If they want to be a part of your life, they'll have some ideas about what types of food to prepare if you ever break bread with them.

humboldt, I find it odd that you say cookbooks are an impersonal gift. I actually think they are quite a thoughtful gift. When my husband first went vegetarian, we recieved a few wonderful veg cookbooks. I've rec. dog cookie cookbooks, and I thought they were fantastic gifts.

If her father and his new wife aren't vegan, it's impersonal.  It'd be personal if it was a cookbook that fit their lifestyle.  As a veg*n, imagine getting cookbook describing all the ways to prepare foie gras.
