People have a vision of what vegetarians/vegans are..they think you eat salad all day and throw up at the sight ofmeat? Im unlike most vegans.
Im not a big fan of salad, I dont eat vegan cheese( still freaks me out) and I dont really like juice.
I want to know what dont people eat besides meat and dairy...
I forgot about raw onions and olives. Uck.
In addition to olives, radishes and some slimy mushrooms, I realized, after trying a stew recipe, that I don't care much for green beans. I also don't like mustard greens or peanut brittle.
I'm starting to go off of Pasta. I'm so sick of it being the only option around at restaurants (the salads here are usually never vegetarian or vegan). Pasta w/tomato sauce...how exciting. bleh.

I agree with you. I'm a little tired of pasta at the moment.
I wish I were tired of pasta (never - gonna - happen)
WAIT! I got a bunch of organic basil at the store last night, and I plan to make pesto...sooo, I might NOT be tired of pasta! (but really, probably, yes, but pesto is awesome!)
Pesto is awesome. I'm not really tired of pasta, just tired of the typical pasta w/tomato sauce.

Me too. And that is all I seem to be able to get at Italian restaurants anymore. The tomato sauce usually sucks--I like my homemade sauce 10x better. My bf's sister is getting married in a couple of weeks and her rehearsal dinner is at Olive Garden (fancy, I know), and I was like "um, we can bring our own food."

yeah I know what you mean. No I don't hate pasta at all, and I actually quite like pasta and red sauce but it does really piss me off when that is the only vegan option. Yep, pasta and red is so original.
Olive Garden as the rehearsal dinner? How does that happen? Can you rent a room there?! Good luck, I've heard not much there is vegan at all.
I do like when restaurants have a pasta w/olive oil and spicy pepper sauce. I made one on Friday for myself and it was delicious!

Good news: the rehearsal dinner is no longer at Olive Garden.
Bad news: It's been moved Steve's Smokehouse or something other catchy name for a dude's house of murder.
Strike out. Not thinking they're going to have much for vegans, aside from the fact it's going to smell like ass.
im sure they'll have a baked potato and you can maybe get some steamed veggies without butter seeing as that you're allergic to dairy... wink wink.

Not a bad idea. I guess most meat places do have baked potatoes. We'll have to look into that! (and allergic to meat? What kind of Hoosier are you, girl?!)

Be careful of the veggies. You are cllose to me, and here they are all seasoned with pork. Steakhouses are also notorious around here for hating vegetarians and trying to sneak things in. I'd call way ahead so they don't associate you with the phone call. Eat before you go too. Maybe they'll have peanuts.

Crap, good point. I told his sister we'd bring Subway. She didn't seem too pleased with that. Her fiance's family are all meat eating freaks, and they're really proud of it. Her fiance is pretty overweight, and he's trying to lose weight before the wedding. So he's been cutting out some meat and coke, and GASP he's losing weight. Now his family makes fun of him and calls him a sissy and tell him he'd better not completely quit eating meat. This coming from his aunt, that, I'm not kidding, was so large she couldn't sit in a normal kitchen chair. She needed 2. I know I want to take health advice from someone who cannot stand and sit under their own free will.
Wow, I'm in a jerky mood today or something. Sorry.

No I get it...my family is a mess when it comes to my mom and I being veggies.(vegetarian&vegan), however, they are all HUGE. I mean..its gross. They have all the commentary on us, yet, they cant get themselves into shape. I find that interesting.
....aaaaaand SCENE. Perfect.
LMAO@ that picture! amazing..thanks..that made my day!!
In honor of what all you faggots don't like, I'm going to eat a dish with mushrooms, tempeh and sweet potatoes with a delicious salad as a side (with AVOCADO, BITCHEZ!)
This is my favorite post ever, I think. I burst out laughing really hard at this use of "faggots."
I guess that I am not a faggot because I like everything (that's vegan, duh). I've actually become less picky since going vegan. I used to HATE cilantro & green olives (and capers), but now I can tolerate cilantro & I LOVE green olives. I used to also dislike squash & sweet potatoes, but now I enjoy both. And, I love mushrooms & eggplant, which seem to be commonly hated by a lot of people. Kombucha is my favorite drink EVER. It's delicious. And it makes a good mixer for cocktails. :)
No matter how hard I try...I can't stand lima beans. It's the one thing leftover from childhood that I have always hated and continue to feel so strongly about it now. Taste, texture, you name it...
