I am officially a recipe-poster and it only took a decade of reading and trying other people's recipes for me to do my own. Hopefully, I won't take this long to do all of the other things I haven't yet done.

Congratulations. I've been looking for good crock pot recipes because I'd rather go for a walk in the evening that cook but in the morning I have a little bit of time to chop veggies and prepare stuff for a crock pot. I may try this next week instead of another recipe calling for portabello mushrooms that's on the week's menu list that I compiled last night.
I made an announcement post too when my first recipe showed up. I've got two on the site now. Lemon Caper Spaghetti Sauce (which should be Squash but I contacted the admins to see if it can be corrected) is the latest one of mine. It's so goooood! :-*
This works great on the stovetop too. I use flour, instead of the tapicoca, because it doesn't need to cook long to thicken and add good texture to the sauce.
Yep, I couldn't help myself. I had to post about it. I'm sure the excitement will wear off for me and I'll stop with these kinds of posts. I just got overexcited, I guess. :D

How long does it usually take for recipes to show up on the site? I posted one about a month ago and I haven't seen it on here yet....
I submitted mine on Monday and I noticed it on the site first Wednesday. I had one recipe I submitted never show up so I don't think they notify you if they've rejected your submission. I don't know if that's just due to the shear number of recipes submitted or if they're afraid to hurt someone's feelings. I'd like to know that's rejected and why, personally. Sometimes things do fail to go through on the net so it might be that it went into what one of my Computer Science professors at TTU liked to call the bit-bucket.
Mmm, another yummy sounding recipe I could use for my crockpot. :)

TinTexas, I like the bit bucket phrase. I'm gonna start using that. I've been calling it limbo or space, as in "It's out in space somewhere," but this is better!
I didn't discover the Recipe Q&A until after my first recipe was posted, so I never got to share the excitement. But damn, you're right, it's exciting to see your creation on vegweb, it's like sending a kid out into the big scary world. I also love getting reviews and pictures of other people.

About submitted recipes:
Everything is entered by hand at VegWeb (by whom I don't know, to be honest, it's the "mystery crew" behind the vegweb scenes ;)), and I've seen recipes get garbled, posted twice, and all kinds of things when they first appear, so it's possible your recipe got lost either temporarily or permanently, I'd give it maybe two more weeks and then contact the admins if there's a way to figure out what happened to the recipe.
I have seen some pretty simple recipes (aka "take toast, put on peanut butter, enjoy") on here, so I doubt recipes are rejected unless they are robot spam or something.
I also noticed the posting comes and goes in waves. My first recipe took at least a week to be posted as far as I remember, but some of the other ones were up about an hour after I submitted them, so it depends. I have two or three recipes in the cue right now, so I'm also waiting for them to show up.
Yup, it's all done by hand here on VegWeb, so I always stop and wonder when things don't come up...maybe they're ill/on vacation/have midterms (to teach or take), etc?? Yvette is the one who always answers the Contact Us email, if it's all done by one or two lone people it could take awhile! ;) I have also sometimes missed my recipe when it's actually been posted, I just didn't see it...go back among your own posts and review them up to the time you sent it in...it could actually be there. I miss the "all new recipes" link for that.

They should take volunteers to weed through the submissions. That's too much to do for even a handful of people!
