NVR: Bad Products, Bad Companies...

I saw this release on Yahoo, and wonder if anyone is surprised by these findings.  I rarely drink, and never buy bottled water, so I was a tiny bit surprised that Dasani come from the same sources as tap water.

For some reason this brings to mind those old products like, "Bag O' Glass" and "Jonnie Matchsticks", but in a different and nicer guise.

I don't believe it.  I mean, huge companies are looking out for our best interests!!  Stupid liberal media...

You know what else is crazy about Dasini--they put epsoms salt into the water--so when you drink it your body can not even absorb the water! You just stright up expell it--then a few minutes later, guess what? You're thristy again! Most of the schools and colleges around here are locked into coca-cola so even if a child makes a good decision by buying water instead of soda--they still get screwed!  >:(

Not really surprising at all.  At work today I saw an article about decreasing levels of local reservoirs.  I wonder how much of that water goes into products like Dasani and if that is having a negative effect on reservoir levels nationwide.

And pharmaceutical companies I find to be downright disgusting to begin with so that doesn't surprise me at all.  Unfortunately over the weekend I caved and went against my convictions of the industry and applied for a job at the company mentioned in the article... :-\

yeah i remember hearing about that dasani thing a coup0le months ago.  and i guess they are not the only company that starts with plain tap water.  unless the bottle actually states that the water is sourced from somewhere specific (crystal geyser is "alpine spring water"), it's probably just filtered tap water.

A lot of bottled water is originally tap water. One that I particularly like, Sparkletts, is L.A. municipal water (filtered, though). I mean, I already knew I was paying a buck for just water. It doesn't make too much of a difference if it comes from Lake Arrowhead or the city to me... of course, knowing this means it's just the same as have a filter on your faucet. Which is less expensive. And more environmentally friendly.

whereas I don't agree with these companies...I think it's a little idiotic to single out certain companies when they all do the same things.  Post and General Mills use cartoon characters to market to children as well.  What is Kellogg's doing differently that makes them the one singled out?  Believe me, I'm not siding with them because I used to work there.  (I don't like them)  I simply live in the "cereal capital of the world" and see all of their tactics..especially during festivals and other local activities.
