3/4 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour, divided (or all purpose flour + 3 teaspoons baking powder)
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped pecans or walnuts
1 tablespoon raisins
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat the margarine and sugar together until light and creamy, then beat in the syrup.
2. Mix in 1/2 the flour, then the nuts and raisins and then the remaining flour. Form 10 balls of dough.
3. Put balls of the mixture on a baking tray without flattening them. Bake 15 minutes, until golden.
