I wanted to start this thread to be all about our pets. Ask questions, help answer questions, tell a funny story about something your cat/dog/ferret/bird/rat, etc did, update everyone on your pet's health, tell us about a new pet, vent, grieve, laugh, etc. I know I'll be posting here a lot and I hope you'll join me!

Does anyone else's dog dislike heartguard? Every other dog I had thought they were great treats. Dini LOVES them. He starts drooling when he sees me take out the frontline & heartguard boxes. (I always give them front line first, then the heartgaurd as a treat after). But Molly doesn't care for them. She spits it out. I have to break it into little pieces & mix it in her food. & even then sometimes she picks out the little pieces.
Bella liked them at first....but now I have to mix it in with her food. :o She's a picky puppy!
Yay Monk!! ;)b
Great news about Monk! :> I hope you can get him home soon and spoil the heck out of him! My Lacey goes on hunger strikes at the vets too. She will only eat when I come to visit. Cats can be quite peculiar that way....but we love them anyway.
Thank you so much everyone for the well wishes & messages of love. :-*
The vet called DH before I got home from work to give him an update...nothing has changed. He looks great but has 2 stones in his bladder so we will have to watch him very closely for any signs that he's trying to pass them. First sign & he goes straight back. She also said that Monk loves the feeding tube LOL What a lazy kitty cat.
Tomorrow is Caturday...how appropriate :)
Monk is finally home :)
He didn't complain once in the car coming home (normally he howls). I know he was happy to be home...first thing he did was flop on the kitchen floor demanding belly rubs. He was rubbing all of us...even our dog Boots got rubbed. Stu got hissed at because Stu was a little too excited to see Monk.
The poor guy has been through the ringer :-[ Every paw has been shaved, his thigh & his neck.
I'm not sure if this will work but I posted a picture of the "miracle" cat.
I'm happy he's home. When Cat was at the vet I was a wreck until I got him back in my arms (much to Cat's disgust). I know the relief. Monk, be nice to Stu! (I say that like cats listen.)
Monk is certainly a good looking fella. I am so glad he is back home with you....sounds like he and the rest of the family was glad he was back. Poor Stu!
Sketchy sounds like my dog ::) He's been more cat like as days go on. He has his system to get on counters and get into my food (only my food, for some reason) and only stuff i get from the big bins at the HFS, guess he has good taste ;)b I just wish he'd let me eat some of my food first! (and i'm afraid he'll eat something hes allergic too, like wheat. He did that once, nothing happened, i was relieved) So lately i've been putting my food in plastic containers instead of the bags.
Nearl the rat is dying of oldness. :'( I've only known him for four months, and he's not even mine, but he's adorable and my favorite, and I'm sad he is dying.
:'( times a billion.

I'm sorry, pc.
Awww cakes, I am so sorry :-*
mdv, sorry that your cornbread got trashed but man, that is a very funny image. A picture would have been hilarious.

That is silly. It would have made a good I Can Has Cheezeburger! Oh cats... ::)
It's really sad watching Nearl. He looks like he's having a hard time breathing, and I don't think he can see at all right now, even though his eyes are sorta open. He's also cold, like when I pet him. The other rat (Creeper) is laying in the hammock with him. I wish there was something I could do. He's been like this all day, and it hurts to watch him. :'( :'(
It's nice that Creeper is there for Nearl.
cakes - How is Nearl doing today?
----------
In other news: I have a copy of The Nature of Animal Healing: the definitive holistic medicine guide to caring for your dog and cat by Martin Goldstein up for grabs.
He died yesterday around 7. I cried more than I thought I would. Animals make me emotional. :'( We let Creeper say his goodbyes, then put Nearl in the tissue box we gave them to play with, put that in a bigger box, closed it up, wrote "RIP Nearl July 07-March 09" and "You will be missed. Have fun at Babar's house" (the character he was named after had a thing about Babar) on it, then gently placed the box in the outside garbage can because the ground is too hard to bury him.
I miss seeing his little face peeking out of the hammock. And whenever he would drink, he would do it as quietly as possible, as if he didn't want to bother anyone, while Creeper would just be really loud. :( I miss him.
((((cakes))))
My mom had to put my cat to sleep today. He was almost 16 (we've had him since I was 11). He's had joint problems for the last few years, then apparently he stopped eating so my mom took him to the vet and he had liver cancer. He was probably everyone's favorite out of all the cats we've had.
RIP, PC. :'(
I hope Kasper (the only remaining cat) doesn't get too lonely.
P.S. Ponycakes, sorry about Nearl.
Aww, hugs PG. :'(
And thanks for the sympathies. He's really Sean's rat, but he was my favorite out of the two. :( And the house next year doesn't allow any pets, so we can't replace him either. Sigh.
