Let's get this started, bitchez. I can start saving after a while..........hopefully.
You can have one choice, but may change your vote. I'm undecided! Asheville would be good, but I'm up for any of them.
I can easily mooch lodging from members of my spiritual community in Austin, the others, not so much.
I have lodging in Austin, as well. Who's up for housing people for the other locations?!
I chose Atlanta because I could visit some friends while there - so it would be a multi-purpose trip....
And I don't require lodging - I love hotels.
Okay, there's a branch in Atlanta too for me...
Atlanta because I recall hearing that there was a store there..maybe? Cosmo's I think?
I just learned that I live less than 10 miles from a Cosmo's center. It's on the internet, but for the life of me, I can't find it in reality. Perplexedness. Obviously I would selfishly choose Atlanta, but I can't think of anything spectacular about the ATL.
asheville!
I picked asheville, but atlanta would be ok too. Austin would be a stretch but we may have contacts there...
I would suggest Kentucky but come on... it's Kentucky...I don't even like it here...wouldn't make you all come too lol
I can make any of those. Ashville and Atlanta are much closer, but I have friends in Austin that I haven't seen in over 3yrs.
When did we decide to have this in southern location?? I don't mind... just curious.

It just kind of seemed like a lot of people would be able to make it. Different people were talking about it in several threads. Seems like it can work. Plus, S/SE is different than W.
Yeah I think it's the best choice all around. Lubi, secondbase, lotus, cams, courth, carrotwench, l2a, and ck (and more I just can't think of) all live there. Plus it's closer to Florida people. It makes the most sense.
I'd do any of those! I've never been south. Which has the best vegan stuff?

That's what I was wondering!
eta: Austin has a site! http://www.veganaustin.org/
I'm not voting, because, well, yeah, there's very little chance of making it to America next year, but all this talk of 'south' intrigues me, because isn't LA like directly parallel with Atlanta? I would have thought California counted as 'south', what with being at the bottom of the country and all...

We were in San Fran., which is more Northern. California is considered Western.
eta: I think I'm learning toward Austin? Not sure.
i think asheville is the best for vegan stuff. also, coolest. actually, i am sure austin is cool but it isn't really the south.
i don't actually know if i could make it, anyway, but asheville would be most probable because we could just fly to FL and drive up.
California isn't the south. even LA and San Diego, those are still just south west... The south is just... different.
ohhh I think I see... I was just thinking of it as geographical south, but you're thinking of some kind of character of the 'south' or... something...
thanks!
Yeah that's right. It's just like a cultural understanding. We don't really divide it up into geographic quadrants. It's divided more by which areas go together.
Texas...not South...? ???
I voted Austin because it's only an hour away. They've got the best vegan pizza at a place called The Parlor.
Interesting... I really want to go to Asheville. I didn't vote this time though since I probably won't be able to make it there from Germany anyway.
Which is winning so far?
