Pubes.

Let's talk about how everyone grooms their pubes.

I really can't stand having any pubic hair.  I shave mine, but I do love a good wax.  I would get waxed all the time if I didn't have to pay for it and didn't have to wait for the regrowth.  The woman I go to uses some awesome kind of wax for sensitive skin and it barely hurts.  She's awesome.  I always go for the full brazilian.  In the mean time I just shave.

Regarding partners, my current partner shaves as well (just by coincidence) and I don't think I could go back from this.  Makes things so much more pleasant.

Speak on it!

I've tried shaving a few times. I like to be shaved, but I really don't enjoy the regrowth (itchy, spikey, horrible) and it irritates my skin, so a few hours after it doesn't even look pretty. Now I just trim with scissors when I can be bothered, and shave a little on the bikini line when I am going swimming

I just tweeze a section, and I just do it for fun(haha0, seriously, that sounds weirder than it is, I promise!  One time when I was about 18, my mom made me a gyno appt and I was freaked out casue I had tweezed a circle out of the middle of my pubes.  The dr never mentioned it but I'm sure he thought I was crazy.

I thought I was crazy--I tweeze too! I would like to wax, but I don't even know if anyone around here (read: middle of redneck nowhere) does it, whether I would want them to, and whether I'd want to pay for it. So, I tweeze! I think it works well. I thought i was the only one.

I don't understand the aversion to something natural like pubic hair. Nor would I ever understand why people shave down there or wax...the itchiness would drive me insane.

I trimmed my pubes yesterday for the first time in aaaaaages.  They were beginning to get all sore when I put my underwear on?? How strange is that!  Just to be gross, I estimate that they were about 4-5 inches long!!  I kinda left them for so long because I wanted to see how long I would get them - yes I could braid them they were that long!
And so ends the grossness!!

Whoa! Do they not curl?

yeah they curl, so it didn't look like they were really long just to look at, just really bushy....but when I extended them they were well long.  I feel so much better now!

it's just what makes you comfortable. I am just not a fan of them, personally. But I think everyone should do what makes them happy. It's really not itchy at all.

Shave it allllll off!  I have a wierd aversion to body hair (at least on myself...) and it bugs me a lot even if there is stubble.
I can't afford regular waxings, but I'd like to try it eventually.

Just a plain ol' razor for me (Gillette venus Embrace = <3 )

I'm with you casion on this. I hate having body hair down there. I shave it all off a couple times a week.

Last year I thought I would be clever and circumvent the whole buying expensive razors nonsense by buying a Gillette electric razor. No, no, and no. My god... there was so much blood. Second dumbest thing I have ever done to my body.

What a great thread..first time I a have noticed it and just read through the entire thing.

Question,  I, like Shelloid ,have way too many pubes growing down my inner thighs. I is horrible.  I like to shave everything clean and smooth but it is a lot of work. And the stubble is horrendous especially on J.  ::)  But my question is actually about gyno appointments...do you just go in bare as a babe??? I would feel a little to exposed I think.  It seems like a lot of woman are bare so what do you do?

I'm "bare" all the time, that includes the doctor's office.  A couple of years ago my doctor made the comment about it being "very tidy".
Why would you feel exposed?

I guess because the hair is my covering??? without it I am truly "more" naked. Does that make sense?

THHF, they really have seen it all. Really. I think I'd feel exposed regardless of my lady garden's topiary in that situation, haha.

lol, I'm with ya catski...there's really nothing that would make it a truly comfortable appointment for me!
If anything, the hair would make me personally feel untidy.

yes, hair down there seems dirty to me.  like things would get stuck in it....I haven't had pubes since I was 16, but I remember it being kinda gross.

Check out my earlier post on this thread about the Seiko Cleancut. No blood, no bumps, no stubble, no ingrown hairs.
It really is amazing. It's the only shaver I know of that really works for women. I mean it does a great job on all the. . . uhhh. . . soft and irregular shaped parts. :)

Ok maybe it's the lack of sleep giving me courage to type stuff I normally wouldn't... but I can't resist this thread any longer! LOL

First, I just wanna say; Why is pubic hair considered "dirty"?? Second, I get kind of annoyed that women are sort of "expected" to be bare nowadays! Is it not enough we have to shave/wax/tweeze all but the hair on our heads?? hehe

Anywayyyy, so... yeah, I like to shave mine into shapes!  ;D Circle, heart, square, triangle, mohawk... whatever! I'm waiting for a geek boyfriend and I'm gonna shave a triforce in it and scar him for life!! mwhaha

(I really need to sleep!)

I agree with you on that. You have to wonder why we have the secondary sex characteristic of having pubic (and armpit!) hair if it's really, really not desirable, and then if it's "dirty" only because it's keeping the dirt *out* of the genitalia. If that's it's purpose, wouldn't it make sense to keep it?

I think this topic was brought up before, and someone mentioned about higher rates of post-parturition infection with women who were shaved. Or back in the day when they shaved women before birth. Oh hell, I can't remember.

Personally, I appreciate the cushion between me & underwear. When I had shaved before, it always felt... way sweatier.

I've been in an extra tweezy mood lately. I have a pretty darned good section totally nice and tweezed. I tweeze a little every night after I shave when I'm bored. Lol.
