Favourite 'only in America' foods

I just had a brainwave *ouch* last night that I have a good friend due to return to New Zealand from the States in two weeks time.  I'm constantly seeing/hearing about all these specialty products/ cooking/baking supplies that you all have available over there, and thought I could put in a request for her to pick up something awesome for me.

But I've got a complete mind blank as to what kinds of things you can get there that we can't get here...

Any ideas from anyone living on the other side of the world?

I still wanna know where lubi gets vegan butterscotch chips! WHERE!?!?

Food Lion brand are vegan.  Do you have them around you?

There are still Food Lions? I thought they were gone...like in the 90s. Weird.

just to put a conclusion to this topic, I got the agave, but not the liquid smoke, so one day maybe I'll actually order some online.
I'm excited to try my agave, I'll have to think carefully about what to use it in : )

Something for next time - ask for US measuring cups so you don't have to convert vw recipes to metric.

this right here, along with veggydog's thread about tablespoons etc in dine and dish, has just blown my mind.
I had no idea a cup wasn't just a cup and that I may well have made everything off vegweb with the wrong proportions.  haha, awesome.

haha yeah, I brought 2 sets of measuring cups and spoons and a 4 cup liquid measuring cup with me to Berlin. I wasn't going to take any chances.
