Nourishing Traditions...Sally Fallon

I have a feeling this has been discussed before but I just heard her on a podcast and can no longer hold in my frustrations. Just curious if anyone has ever read her book before and what your thoughts were. It was baffling to hear people call in and ask her health questions only to have her refer each and every caller to her book or her website. I don't think she could answer one question. Her promotion of large consumption of animal products and stance against vegetarianism makes me sick.
Thoughts anyone?
I don't know who she is, so my post isn't relevant - just wanted to say that I :)>>> your food pics.
Haha :) Why thank you!
Interesting, very mildly interesting at best. I had never heard of her either so I looked her up. Fallon has been making excuses for her crappy diet for a long time and has made a career of telling others what to think, or making excuses for others as well. My opinion is that she is just another person who will do what she wants no matter who it hurts. Nothing will change her.
As for directing people to her book and website rather than answering questions, well, that is how she makes money so I wouldn't expect otherwise.
I think she is the epitome of the difference between veg*ns who eat what they do because they care about others and the omnis who eat animals because they just don't care. Perhaps she's felt some twinge of guilt, or pressure, because she knows it's morally despicable but she's putting up her best defense (mechanism) and making money at it.
If anyone gets a chance and they want to listen to the podcast I am talking about look up Dr. Axe in iTunes. He does a show called Transform Your Health. I highly recommend listening to it... I was shocked at some of the advice they were giving out... For example people were calling in about what to do about high cholesterol and she told them that high cholesterol when you are older is good and then proceeded to recommend a diet high in saturated animal fats. Just sounds downright dangerous to me.
Frankly I don't give a hoot about whether veg*nism is healthier or not.
OMG, in your avatar (that is your boyfriend, right?), he is looks just like Tom Cruz!
How did you ever catch such a hottie? :)>>>
Can you give me some tips to catch one of my own? ;D

I heard something similar to this before. I have been told that a diet high in cholesterol actually helps to LOWER cholesterol and is healthy. Utter nonscence!
Haha that is my husband in my avatar :) um tips.. Well we met on the Internet so hey give it a go lol
And yea just google the Weston A. Price Foundation crazy people...
Please give us a link so we can respond!
We don't know what she is about or what she said. Examples please!
oh man...sally fallon....what an idiot.
google sally fallon, but be prepared to get verrrry verrry angry.
In fact that's all I can say because reading this: https://www.westonaprice.org/abcs-of-nutrition/1555.html makes me too angry to think.
What??????? None of this makes any sense.

Haha, actually, there is a grain of truth here although it sounds counter-intuitive. Higher levels of HDL help remove the much more dangerous LDL from the body.
Haha this is the stuff I was reading when I made this thread. It's so infuriating that I don't even know where to start ranting. I love how she assumes that all vegetarians are sick and tired all the time... Um I can't remember the last time I was sick and I run 45 miles a week... I feel great so she should shut it!
I just looked her up, too. She's part of Weston A. Price Foundation...enough said. This should makes her crediability about nill. Unfortunately, people literally eat this crap up. They want someone to validate their own bad eating habits.
