Bad Poetry/Bad Recipe Thread

Okay, I'm starting this thread for the poetically inclined who would like to publish their poems about recipes or cookbook authors that just haven't worked out for them. Well, I guess you could publish happy poems about good recipes too. I'll start.
JKL's Dreena Burton Haiku:
Lemon Chickpea soup
"Why is Mommy mad at us?"
Dreena winter gone.
Coconut cupcakes
"I can't believe they're vegan!"
Isa wins again
Simple yet delish:
Ratatouille lasagna.
Nom nom nom nom nom!!
;)b ;)b ;)b ;)b ;)b
i don't have anything but i would like to say i wholeheartedly support the progression of this thread.
I think that if I ever bake
A cookie, brownie or cupcake
To Dreena’s books I would first turn
And Isa-- without question--spurn.
That is, unless the recipe
Was something much more savory
To eat for dinner or a snack
Or for my kiddies’ lunch to pack.
In which case there is no way
To Dreena’s entrees I would stray
Because so many I did try
And but for two they made me cry.
As I stand here tired
and my brain gets fried
all these foods I don't understand
kale, tempeh, tofu, soft and firm
(are they boobs??)
I look around not knowing what to do
but I grab a package,
Can I even pronounce this?
Do I want to think of cooking?
Soy cheese, Rice milk, tofutti, oh my!
Do I even want to think of cooking?
I WANT MY MOMMY!!
I think that if I ever bake
A cookie, brownie or cupcake
To Dreena’s books I would first turn
And Isa-- without question--spurn.

one of my favorite haiku's EVER, came from www.ihatecilantro.com
Soapy flavor abounds
Did they not rinse the dishes?
No, it's cilantro.
which is funny, 'coz I really like cilantro!

Heh heh, cilantrophobes/corianderphobes are funny. ::) ;D But that reminds me - I must work on starting a website called www.celeryisevil.com..... >:D
Stinky breath of death -
Why so many folks like you,
I will never know.
I just learned that the reason so many people do not like cilantro is because they lack a certain enzyme or something. It makes it taste like soap to them! :P
Powerful garlic
You leave my breath so pungent
No kisses for me

I'm eating celery right now. ;D
Wow, very nice entries.
I'm going to leave the contest open for two more weeks and then I'll award a prize.

Is that a dancing garlic clove? That's rad. ;D
Spicy fries
Spicy fries
Burns so nice and sweet
I love that great aroma
these fries I love to eat!
The couscous was easy.
The sauce wasn't hard.
But volume made queasy,
And spill'd to the front yard!
Now where is that listing,
To post my review?
So others aren't wishing
They'd halved it too!
test kitchen tempeh
deep fried treat, mess of a pan
wifie makes me clean.
I think it's spelled "wifey," but I guess you wouldn't know since you don't got one :P
Anyway, I can't wait for the poetry award to come to it's home in Boston :w00t!:
I like the "ie" spelling. The best names end in "ie." Like mine. (Yeah, Katie is my full name.) In fact, baypuppy, you should change your name to baypuppie.
Now, according to the Unabridged Oxford English Dictionary, "wifey" is traditionally spelled w-y-f-e-a-g-h. I believe Shakespeare coined the term. ;)
Very nice entries. Baypuppie, I knew you could do it.
One week left. Come on. Give it your best effort.
The 8 year old and the 6 year old will decide the winner.
