I've been under a lot of stress lately (it's been good, but stressful) and just when I started to feel rested, I'm coming down with a cold. In this weather? It's immoral! ;D
So, what good news do VegWebbers have? It can be personal, or general, just as long as it's upbeat and positive!!
I'll start...two of my students who expected to fail their exams passed. One had actually been given a failing grade and she talked to her prof--and miracle of miracles, he passed her! Changed her grade from a fail to a B! (I think he either hadn't really read the exam or something weird happened the first time).
What the good year, Vegwebbers?
I look awesome in yellow :)
Teehee!
I bought new jeans today! I love them, my butt looks so cute! *wiggles butt*
Oh, and purple is the best color ever. I bought a purple tank top, too. It's a gorgeous 80-something-degree day with lots of sunshine and a beautiful breeze. It makes me want to go outside and plant flowers. Or just lay around in the sunshine. Too bad I would burn.
::)
Cute post! I needed this, as I tend to be a pessimist at times!
I finally got an art teaching job in a school (after a year hiatus), although part time-its better than nothing!
I bought 2 more bras today of the same kind in different colors because I loved the first one I got so much (I have a habit of doing things like this....one in every color!)
I made $150 yesterday waiting tables!
The temperature has dropped about 15 degrees and I can smell fall coming. I love fall!!!
I finally got the UGLY old yellow dirty wallpaper out of my bathroom, I painted it a perfect blue and it is now a lovely place to use the toilet!!!
My husband and I have decided to try for another baby after 6.5 years, and we have been having lots of sex! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
My husband just called me to come try the peach cobbler that is now out of the oven. :) :)happy days!

No more IUD as of yesterday.... time to TRY.

yay for baby making...sex it up guys! ;)
My boss has been looking at a new location and if he ends up buying it and opening a new store, I'll be running that location as well. That will be three total locations that I will be running. $$$
May sound like bad news... but I broke up with my boyfriend of four years (He was a liar and cheater!)
trust me.... Definitely good news
I second the cute post comment- it's nice to hear everyone's good news!

I had a job interview last week, and this week I'll hear if I got the job or not! :D
After reading that awful "You Tube" thread, I decided to bump this up with another "good news" post...I think we could all use some!
Last night I was listening to the BBC Radio 4 News and they told of an elderly grandma in Kilmarnock who went down to the local shop for some groceries. While there she witnessed an attempted armed robbery. "I was outraged", she said..."I don't know what came over me." She proceeded to lay about her with her handbag, and drive the gun-toting would be theif out into the parking lot! The gunman got away in his car but NOT before Grandma had memorised his licence number! She gave it to the police and he was apprehended and put in police custody.
Three cheers for proactive senior citizens!!

That's great!
Yea! For grandma. You go girl! That makes me happy. As a martial artist and a person who has been attacted, I love to hear about stories like that. The last time I was attacted, I did major ass-kickin' this time. It was some years ago, but it's still fresh in my mind. I was so happy that my martial arts skills didn't let me down ;)

I have to say, I wonder what (and how much of it) was in that handbag! If it was anything like the typical grandma's purse here in Spain, it would be heavy enough to be classed as a blunt instrument! ;D
LOL. Maybe so. She may have had the usual "grandma" stuff in there (lots of change, books, makeup, ect. Makes for a good weapon! That's for sure.
My good news? Well... There's a 2 term limit for US presidents!!!
Just hoping that Nov. '08 goes well...
I fourth this!!! :)
And I got a really cool flute off freecycle today!!! 8)
I'm going to be 18 for this election :) Thank goooooodness.
and I also just got a new (to me) car. It gets closer to 30 mpg versus the barely 20 the caravan i was stuck with was getting.
also, I spent the better part of today with my best friend who I haven't gotten to spend time with in over a month due to conflicting schedules and such. it was fabulous :)
good news? that's hard....but I'll try
1) I haven't been fired from a job I loathe yet. (altho I probably should be :o )
2)It's almost October! (Halloween !!!!!!!!)
3) I'm going to take a massively expensive vacation I really shouldn't take to Kyoto in November. (I'm afraid to see the price of my travel tickets next week.) I'll have a camera from a friend so I can post pictures to make everyone insanely jealous. ;D
that's it really.

"It isn't better to feel joy than to feel grief. It is certainly more fun to feel joy--but it isn't better. If something good is happening, it is appropriate to be joyful. If you have experienced loss, it is equally appropriate to be sad."

I was once sexually assaulted. A few years later I took a day-long self defense class and almost had a melt down when i had some flashbacks during the class. About two weekends ago I had a horrifying experience (two men chased me down an empty street) and when two other strangers came up and men scampered off I broke down crying...All I could think was that the only thing I had to protect myself was my cell phone---and that is totally useless! SO I was considering taking martial arts...But I'm scared to for a few reasons 1...having flashbacks in front of a room full of people is embarrassing! 2. I'm afraid it will give me false confidence and not really help me the next time i find myself in similar a situation.
What do you think karatekid?
Good news is I finally got the testing date for my black belt test .. November.
My labX Brazenhead's lumps are limpomas and NOT cancer! (i honestly can't think of any better news than that!)
Zealia,
Get some pepper spray. Carry it with you ALWAYS (in your hand, with the switch ready to spray, not in a purse) and walk confidently, make eye contact with everyone you pass on the street. This makes a big difference. Noone wants to mess with someone who LOOKS like they may put up a good fight.
Majicka414, that is good news :)

Here in Spain, making eye contact is NOT advisable. If you make eye contact you have just initiated an encounter. I walk with confidence but direct my vision forward and slightly up; I'm aware of all around me but not making contact.
My good news.
Everything looked greener yesterday after the heavy rainfalls pounded southern California. So I went for a walk, and watched the puffy clouds glide by.
