That remindes me of a friend of ours that would do his Home Depot shopping after the bars close. He would bring a 6 pack in the cart with him and have himself a time. ;)b

Fluorescent lights combined with large spaces can be strangely disorienting while intoxicated. ;D

hahahahaha! I've been grocery shopping whilst...uhm...."intoxicated" before, and not just for a munchie-run. Yeah, sometimes it's not such a great idea.
but then sometimes You get really brilliant, inspired ideas for recipes, and You buy things You wouldn't have otherwise, and it turns out wonderfully.
I usually luck out and get the latter scenario.

My favorite people to wait on when I was a cashier were the drunks that came in. I worked overnights and they were very entertaining trying to be sneaky or just trying to act sober enough so I'd sell them more booze. Not that I ever did...I wasn't willing to risk a huge fine.

I know whatcha mean.
Sometimes it's funny, and surprising how well some people can fake sobriety. (I've, actually *ahem* experienced this from both sides of the counter... lalala ::)) Other times, it's sad, and worrying - if they have another bottle of wine, it might finish them off. :o

Oddly enough, I can fake drunkenness so well, people stop wanting to serve me after two beers. But that is typically at faire. hahah

I just opened this thread for the first time to see what it really said because I always finished the subject heading "grocery shopping while..." with "intoxicated". Ha! Do I know this group or what.
