I decided that today is a great day to post a "Hey, how's it going? I'm grrrrreat!" thread.

Although nearly broke, I'm really enjoying my new apartment. The first week has been practically blissful. My boyfriend is in awe of the local animals... bunnies, squirrels, ducks... a couple of random cats...

He said any moment he expects a Disney princess to come prancing out from behind the neighboring fence and start singing. Although we still live in the city, this is a far cry from the college-area apartment (with gross roommates) we had before.

My good luck finally won out- after a hellish moving day, during which we almost didn't even get to move because the ceiling of our would-be apartment was leaking, and the cleaning lady thought giant insects were coming out of the walls... well, I DID get to move in (without having to pay for the extra day of residence), we got a gorgeous LAKE-FRONT VIEW from the kitchen and living room windows... AND although that view was supposed to cost $40 more per month, the property manager neglected to tell me ahead of time, so she isn't charging for it.

WOOHOO!

All our neighbors (on this side of the big apartment complex) are retired folk. That is awesome! They're all so friendly and they just love their little flower gardens. Of course, I feel slightly guilty that they assume my boyfriend is my husband at first.

Oh, well... one of these days.

Maybe my good luck will keep on rollin' and I'll get a proposal, huh?
