How's your 2009 New Year's Resolution coming?
I was thinking, the year is halfway over!! How time flies!
And then I thought... what the heck were my new year's resolutions, anyway? I didn't even remember! Who thinks about that in July?
So, here are mine, and a little progress report.
- Kick off the lacto-ovo from my vegetarian this year (meaning cut way back on dairy & eggs): Hasn't been going as well as I planned. I no longer cook eggs on their own, and I don't drink milk, but cheese and ice cream and stuff with eggs in it are hanging around my apartment...
- Find time to volunteer for a cause that means something to me: YES!!! I am volunteering with the animal rescue that I adopted Pouncival and Etcetera from. It's really awesome, and it give me a warm fuzzy feeling when I help get a cat adopted into a real home!
- Be active, don't let the lazy take over:
Well, I am certainly busy... but I think I meant "exercise." So, no.
- Be grateful, not tacky:
I think I'm doing a pretty good job on this. Sometimes it's hard for me to remember to just say "thank you" and not make things complicated... but I am much more grateful about what I have in life.
- Be supportive, not bossy:
I suck at this. I need to work a lot more on the not bossy thing.
- Master tofu:
Still hit-or-miss, but I am getting better at making things with tofu!
- Get a 4.0 GPA this spring:
Hey! I DID IT!!!!!
- Actually go to the optometrist and get a new prescription:
This I have not done. Shame on me.
- Play more, work less:
I most certainly have! I now work part-time as a receptionist instead of full-time as an assistant manager (nice move!), and I have a lot more freedom to take days off, go on vacation, and work around my volunteering schedule.
Overall, not bad. But I think I conveniently ignored a couple of my resolutions. I need to step it up.
How are YOU doing?
^-^
My only resolution was to give up pop and I've been able to keep it up. Next year I'm thinking about giving up chocolate.
oh i am doing well!! i decided to quit drinking alcohol and i am still on the wagon! :) six months and two weeksssssss
I finally got rid of those last 15 "vanity" pounds! I cut back on my portions, and have been doing Tae Bo every other day, and Pilates on the opposite days. Three times a day I do extra crunches, push ups, thigh and butt exercises. My cheerleader uniform from my High School days is actually loose on me! Yes! It took 15 or so New Years resolutions, but I finally did it!
