I am going on vacation.....
Funny how we post to tell people not to be concerned. I may get a chance to peek in on the board tomorrow but then I will be gone until the 21st.
Cali and I are not packed. Have no idea where anything is that I want to bring due to the renovations and for some reason am not stressed.
I do hope to find Cali's winter coat because she still has sparse hair and it does get cold in the Adirondacks at night. I have packed her little suitcase (Outward Hound) with a doggie first aid kit, a raincoat, a vest that lights up when head lights hit it and a few other essentials. I have her lifejacket and mine. Just ordered them from the people I do the dog hikes with and they arrived a few days ago. I have 6 of her meals prepared and frozen and bought canned salmon (sorry!) for some of her other meals. Got some holistic doggy treats for her tonight as well. I mentioned Outward Hound because I need new shoes but bought her a bunch of fun things for this trip. One of us might as well go in style!
Cali and I are going to have some serious chats when I am away as she is still not housebroken. Knows where to pee and pees there but pees other places too (ruining my new laminate floor and some has to be replaced). Chews wood and ate a spindle on my new staircase tonight when I was outside for five minutes. Chewed a bit of my new footboard on my bed as well. That can be sanded. The spindle has to be replaced. Cali can not be crated. It stresses her beyond belief and that is some of the baggage she carries with her from her horrendous beginning in life. I am not going to give up on her though. I know we will work it out. Oh, she does have every toy imaginable and wood and bones to chew on so it is not lack of suitable toys.
Hee hee hee. Got Cali a little doggie tent too so she can get out of the sun. Again, a concern of mine because her hair is so sparse, she can sunburn easily. I also got her a collar that says, Cali-Fish Creek and our campsite number in case she gets loose. Thought the collar was a better idea than a tag. For $8.00 and two weeks of peace of mind, totally worth it. She is leaving her jewelry at home! ;D ;D ;D
I am sure I will not forget to bring any of her things. She will come back fit as a fiddle and I will be sunburned and hungry! :-)
My pet sitter came over tonight and sadly, this is the last time she will be looking after everyone as she is selling her place and moving quite a distance away. She is wonderful to have because she is a vet tech and does this on her own as an extra job. She is an amazing caring person. I will sorely miss her.
Anyway, everyone have a great two weeks and I will miss you all! I will ponder budgie names over a rum or vodka, sitting in a lawn chair by the lake.
I am so glad Cali is going to experience Fish Creek. Tomorrow I will look for something of Isabela's to bring and bury in the woods. If nothing else, a picture of her. That way, all the dogs in my life will have been there. Mickey, Nugget, Willie, Teddy, Isabela and Cali.
Don't talk about me while I am gone! LOL!!!!!
Hugs to you all!
Di, Cali and the other 9 furred and feathered.
Hope you have a great trip! :)

Thank you 7. By the way, 7 is my lucky or favourite number.
