Its to be a Nanny for a three year old and 12 week old. I love kids. I used to teach preschool and nannied and stuff in the past so maybe it will be good.
Ive been working 65-70 hours a week since April an I kinda feel a little bit like I might drop over dead. So If I get this job Id be able to cut done to just about 50 hrs a week...CAKEWALK! Id only be working 6 days a week! AND I could get health insurance! So that is good. Another major + is that I'd cut my commute down by like 10 hours a week!
I'm sacred to be excited, but wish me luck!!! ;)
Good luck.
Woo hoo!!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed!!!!! Good luck VegHeadZealia!!! Sounds like a great opportunity.
What employers look for:
1. Someone trustworthy: that's you and you're sincerity will show it
2. Someone responsible: check - you've been working 65 hour weeks
3. Nurturing to kids: you in spades or else you wouldn't rescue dogs
You have a lot to bring to the table. A couple of deep breaths and you're good to go. GOOD LUCK.
Remember: You rock!
Good Luck!! sending luck vibes your way
and can i just say... 50 hours a week = cakewalk?? i can barely get through 20 hours a week most of the time... but when the boss goes on vaca and i get almost 40 hours, i THRIVE.
again, good luck to yah :)
You're going to do great. :) I've never even met you and I'm impressed!!!
Good luck!
It might be a bit early as your interview started about 20 minutes ago, but how'd it go? Are you interested in the job after you met the people? Inquiring minds. :)
Good luck Zealia! I am in the same boat, filled out job applications all day today. It's really hard to find a job around here with no car, my only options are family run businesses, Walmart, and Burger King. God I hope this Mexican family restaurant hires me! lol
Tell us how it goes.
sendin good vibes your way, zealia!
oooh Good Luck!
I spent this summer babysitting for extra cash and I can't think of a better job...I want kids now, I mean, you get to jump on trampolines, hula hoop, and color all day. SURELY there's not more to parenting than that :)
Hope everything went well Zealia :)
I'm kinda late to wish you good luck but I hope you got the job. Sooooo, how'd ya do?
You must let us know how you did! We're all dying from suspense over hear!
Zealia... report! ;) Hope it went well and you're out celebrating!
You know, she hasn't posted since last night before she went to the job interview. Was it in somebody's home? I'm always a little paranoid about things like that.
Maybe if I call real loud: VegHeadZealia!
okay, so I thought it wentpretty well. The one (big?) problem was that my energy was so low. I tried really hard to pip myself up some but somehow I still never have energy! Ghhh. The good thing was that she had even less energy than me (probally has something to do with having two little ones)
One good thing though, the mom started to explain he sons allergies to milk/ milk products and seemed to be stressed over mentioning every detail of what he must avoid (casin, whey, lactate...) and I just gently said "I'm good at checking those thongs out, I'm a vegan so I am really familiar with label reading) and that seemed to put her mind at ease. Another good thing was that her son ran up and gave me a giant hug so I think he was comfortable with me. Have to send her my resume and such so that will give me one more opportunity to give good impression...maybe to point out some of my strengths that I didnt get to mention before...
My fingers and toes are crossed for you!!!!!!!!
Awesome! And your home safe and sound. If you get the job you said it would be 50 hours a week. What would be your schedule? Hopefully it would allow you to get some better rest than your current schedule.
the shedual would be Monday- Friday 12 pm-6pm as a nanny and then one 17 hour overnight at the nursing home on Sunday nights.
And the family is like a five minuet walk from my house so Id spend so much less time commuting! I know everyone I know likes to pretend I don't drive because I'm lazy but the truth is I use the bus even though it means an extra 12 hours of travel time a week because I actually BELIEVE in public transportation. I mean, if everyone who was physically capable of walking, biking and bussing would do it can you imagine how many ozones we could save????
hahaha....dunno how I go so off topic, but yes it would equal more sleep for me! ::)
Oh so happy you're getting leeway with the job! :-)

Ummm YEP... I'd say you're in Zealia! As a mom, that's what sold me on our babysitter! I mean of course she had to be qualified otherwise but wow the fact that she was vegan REALLY helped! The hug thing is a good sign too! :)
