I saved my wooden table!
So our dinner table is a very nice antique that belonged to my DH's grandmother. Not great with a bunch of messy eaters in the house, but its actually in really good shape after all of these years of abuse.
Lyle started drinking out of a cup yesterday and spilled water all over it. I didn't see it until this morning. It was under a trivet type thing. Anyway, it had sat in a puddle all night, and when I wiped it up, it left a big white mark, similar to a ring from a glass on a wooden table. But HUGE! Yikes!
I think I remembered reading something about this in VW.......I took some EV Olive Oil and rubbed it into the white surface and let it sit. The white puddle mark disappeared totally!
This should be in a hints for heloise or something, but I just thought I'd share. Maybe it would work on glass rings.
I am relieved! ::)
That's amazing, and something I will try to remember. Wow.
You might have to catch it right after the fact, but maybe it would work on old rings?
I have a huge spot on my floor from long ago (I left a wet mop on it!) that I might try it on to see.
Thanks L2A - I have a chest I did that with (I overwatered a plant), so I'll have to try it!!
yay! jewel is back!
i know this is such a lame thread...but I was amazed! lol!
Aw, thanks L2A :)>>> I've been lurking for a while, but finally decided it was time to come back and post again . . . and what better than this one, lol!
