3 days ago i quit my VERY non vegan job that i worked at for 3 years.i just became vegan a few months ago and just couldn't be apart of what it represented.I actually vomited last week wile handling meat.the down side is i have a week to find a new job but im confident i have the skills to find a great job by then that dosent have beef in it. ;)
Congrats on ditching the "meaty" job!! Good luck in your quest for "nonbeefy" employment!
gabriel, it takes a lot of guts to do what you did. No pun intended. I wish you the best of luck in your new search for a kinder, friendlier job :)
Good for you! With that kind of attitude you will, no doubt! :)
Good luck! The vegan gods will take care of you. :)
congrats! it's always the best decision to follow your heart and your conscience - even if it does mean you might be scraping by for a few weeks. good for you!! :)
I totally agree with Propinecone! I quit my last job at a veterinary supplier because I couldn't deal with the non caring money grubbing and cruel things they advocated. I thought I was going to be a part of something humane and good for animals and found out it was just the opposite.
So, good for you! I'm sure the vegan gods WILL take care of you, as closeyoureyestosee said.. :) It's great that you followed your heart.
Good luck!!!
woot woot! congrats and good luck!

thanks every one for the encouragement i really do appreciate it ........but on an other note that post really made me want some "follow your heart" cheese ;D
Best of luck to you.
Excellent!!!!! You have such a positve attitude that I know you will find something that makes you happy and that you are proud of.
Someone really famous (Emerson? sorry I can't recall the exact source now)once said:
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid!"
This has always been true for me, and I have no doubt it will be true for you. Congratulations!! ;D
Gabriel, I admire you for taking a stand for the animals. Thank you for doing this. I'm sure it took much courage and strength. I hope maybe you will set the example for others who have jobs that conflict with their convictions and are still (consciously or unconsciously) struggling with their conscience. I really do think this is a great thing you've done! I'm sure that you will find an even better, more fulfilling job that you will enjoy!
hey guys i just wanted to updated you on events .the vegan gods have finally decided to smile on me.after two weeks of horrible interviews i began to contemplate going back to my old job.but i decided to keep looking,i just couldn't picture myslef being a vegan working as a manager at macdonals .so today i am now working for an non profit hotel for people receiving medical treatments and their family.im so happy to be making a difference instead of being apart of some that causes harm . :)
Glad you found something that makes you happy! Congratulations!

That's awesome!! I know I don't know you personally, but I am still proud of you--you stuck to your convictions and good things happened! I love that!
It's good to be vegan! :) It's such a good GREAT feeling.
cool, sounds like an excellent job!
High fives on an excellent, intelligent, good hearted, and brave move, gabriel_urmen!! (Your leaving the meat handling job! - But still, I find most anything to do w/ the medical establishment as questionable, so do feel welcome to keep us posted/updated on your observations, ok?)
And for vivianne417, I'd be interested to read more about what you've experienced with the veterinary supplier! Feel welcome to rant since I myself am (also(?)) very anti medical establishment.
Also, similar to quintess' post, someone also once said something like "good fortune favors the bold". Do I have this close? Might anyone know the author?
Again, excellent move, gabriel! (And you too, viv!) Will you keep us posted/updated??
