Interesting Story

I was talking with a friend of mine and she told me she was at a friends house where she accidentally ate meat. She has been vegetarian all her life, right from her mother's stomach. The day after she ate the meat, she was throwing up all day. Is it true that the body rejects meat after a certain amount of time not eating it? Has anyone had an experience or heard of any stories like this?
Did she know that it was meat before she started throwing up? If she did, it could be psychologically induced. I can just think of nasty, gross things and make myself throw up. If she found out that she'd eaten meat after she got sick, then it probably was too hard on her stomach or maybe it had a germ growing on/in it that the meat eaters are immune too. In any case, I hope she's better now.
i've eaten at a restraunt before, --mexican
had the rice/because they were on the vegetable plate, i "assumed" they were veg
about 15 minutes later, i was in the bathroom, sick as a dog
my mom checked on me, i asked her to ask the waitstaff about the ingredients of the rice and such
turns out, they use "ONLY" a tablespoon of chickenstock in the whole pot of rice....
i've heard similar stories too!
My cousin had been veg since she was eight and started eating meat again when she was 22 (said it was easier). Anyway, she told me the first few times eating chicken she got really bad runs that lasted days. Our stomachs don't produce as much hydrochloric acid after not eating meat for so long and therefore our bodies do react to it. A few months ago I ate something accidentally that had milk products in it and the day after I felt really disgusting. I didn't find out till the next day for sure, even though my body told me sooner.
There's a really old post on here back about a year or so, called "Ayayay!" in which I said much the same. I had been returned to vegetaria for only a few weeks when I porked out on one of those "broasted" type chickens you buy ready to eat. The next day I felt like I had a hangover....bloated, lethargic, puffy-faced and very ill. Think far too many margaritas! Without even the fun of the margaritas, drat it...Yes, I think your body adapts and can't handle things you're not eating anymore.
I'm still not a full veg, but when I do have seafood or meat or a baked good with who knows what in it, my tummy lets me know! I thought it was just my imagination.
I have had this happen with egg pasta.
DH recently ate some suspect Chinese food in Chicago (the waitress swore it was vegetarian, with no eggs, etc.) that came garnished with a piece of crab shell. Since we wouldn't be eating for the rest of the day, he removed the crab shell and ate the meal. I stuck with the crappy white rice and soy sauce. Early the next day guess who had N/V/D? Not me! A few cups of miso and some plant enzymes and he was good as gold.
The moral of the story is... animal products are nasty. :P
Anything that comes garnished with the outer clothing of a crustacean can be pretty sure to have the inner workings of said crustacean in the dish, too...otherwise it makes no sense. I mean would they put a bone on top of a salad?

Ahahaha, I don't know why that image just made me laugh out loud (lol). I guess because you always see green things like parsely and such garnishing say the meat aisle at the grocery store, or a plate of steak. So it would be funny if things like bones were used as garnished for vegetables hahaha....I need to go to sleep....
