A big THANK YOU to everyone who participates in this website. Not only is it a mine of information and good recipes, but y'all manage to disagree (when necessary) without all the flaming and infighting that goes on, on other sites (not necessarily VR). The warmth and acceptance are a real tonic. I really enjoy popping in a couple of times a day to browse and "visit my friends". (OK, so I'm agoraphobic, I don't get out much... :D) I have learned so much since I happened on this site several months ago, and it's nice that people like my contributions too! I certainly have gotten a lot more creative in the kitchen!
Another big THANKS to Yvette and co. who make it all possible! Y'all are just the best! :-*
I'd like to sign that card too :)
I also send my thanks! I visit this site constantly, no joke! I absolutely love this site and it has helped me become a cook. I have been able to experiment with many new recipes and I have learned how to prepare tofu and combine spices and herbs to make a delicious meal. Not only has it impressed me, but it has impressed my meat eating family who is coming around to liking tofu! But in the end, it is because of each and everyone one of you who submit comments and answers to my many thousands of questions. Without everyone's help, I would not be able have the knowledge and insight I have gained from visiting this site. Thank you :)
I'll add to this too, this site has kept me from starving :) If only I could get my omni-family to try some of the recipes here!!
I have to also say thanks... When I found this site, I couldn't believe that so many yummy animal-free recipes existed! And since I've convinced my family and friends that vegan doesn't mean eating raw carrots all the time, they've actually been eating my cooking and asking for the recipes. *starts cheering*
i couldn't have made it without this site! like you, yabbitgirl, i visit it almost everyday, if not multiple times daily, for the wonderful recipes and for the wonderful camaraderie along with the wealth of information shared by so many knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and caring people. it's an addiction for me I must admit, but one of the best kinds to have I believe, too! :D i seriously doubt that i would have been able to maintain my vegan aspirations if not for this site and i am so thankful for it and all the great people here who are like treasured friends. so another huge thank you to all of you here who contribute, visit, support, and maintain Vegweb!!
When I found this site, I was delighted to find yummy recipes and an easy-breezy format. I shied away from the forums for ages, but imagine my pleasure when I found a warm, loving, intelligent community that holds discussions with open minds and hearts. I didn't expect to make this community a part of every day, but it is, it is! Thank you, Yvette and other admins! Thank you, everyone!
I actually referred to some of you guys by "name" in a conversation with a friend yesterday (MDVegan and Duckalucky, in case you were wondering). Guess that means I'm hooked, eh?
What I've really enjoyed about vegweb is that I tend to stay on task with our meals. By that I mean, this website is almost a form of accountability for me. I am far less likely to opt for a pre-made or package meal, or just tank the whole thing and go out to eat if I check in with this site regularly. It serves as inspiration for me! Thanks guys!
i'm a message board fanatic! this board gets a lot less traffic than my others so i can check in every couple of hours and not feel like i missed too much. this is, by far, the most open minded and caring community i am a member of. thanks!
I've been around a very long time and have been a vegetarian for a long time, too. However, I think I have learned more in the last 6 weeks or so than I have in years. I agree with everyone that this site and its members are awesome. Everyone is knowledgeable and so articulate. It's a pleasure being part of a family who gets along so well, supports each other, and can disagree in such civilized and respectful ways.
