Looks like I'll be home for Christmas!

So if you don't know, I'm in Japan studying abroad.  I was planning on staying until April, but spur of the moment applied to the college I was going to transfer to when I got home.  So now it looks like I'll be home in December!  I can't wait!!!  Don't get me wrong its cool over here but I really miss my family.  Plus even though I LOVE  :)>>> some of the food over here and how cheap SOME of it is (tofu, miso, soba and udon noodles) SOME of it is ridiculously expensive (potatoes, carrots, tons of other stuff) plus I'll be able to eat other things that they just don't have over here.  Just thought some of you may want to know, okay I know none of you actually care but I wanted to post it anyway.

yay for you and coming home for Christmas. I've come across some of your threads I think you must be an amazing son and your so lucky to be in Japan expanding your knowledge of the world.

Thank you for the compliment and the yay.

Thanks for the yaaay.  I'm really glad I got to come here, since I've also wanted to do so since I was around 5.

Awesome!  Where is home for you??

I live in a smallish town about 1/2 an hour-45 minutes southeast of Detroit, Michigan.

make sure you enjoy every moment and get the most out of your time that you have left in Japan.  Even though you're looking forward to going home and it will be great to have family and friends around you, especially at Christmas, you'll miss the travel and being in an exciting new place before long, so cram as much fun as you can into your last weeks there : )

This! I spent a year in Russia and although I was itching to come home for Christmas, I was so happy to have another semester to look forward to. Think about things you will miss and can bring home like foods. Practical items like maps, written resources, films and so on which you can't find back home. Lots and lots of pictures!
