More good progress!

I've enjoyed reading the threads from others about how their family members are starting to get the point of the whole veg*n thing. And of course the yummy recipes from VegWeb have to do with that!
Today I made my DH's creation which I recently posted here--I think we called it "Tofu and Broccoli Stirfry among Friends" or some such. He looked at me about halfway through lunch and said solemnly: "No meat". "Yes, I know," I replied, "it's tofu-gan." Another solemn gaze. "Vegetarian", he said. "Yeah," I said, "it's your recipe. Isn't it great? That's why I sent it in to VegWeb." "You DID?" He was obviously pleased.
OK, written down like this, cold, it sounds pretty lame, but I was just so thrilled that he was tacitly telling me, hey, this is vegetarian and I LIKE it! I think he was also trying to say "I'm starting to like vegetarian food more than I thought I would."
Thanks for all your help!

Which goes to show that the very best way to turn people onto veganism is to feed them delish vegan food!!!

Right now there is a photo of Chocolate Caramel Shortbread Cookies by AshleyKimball that look just like Samoas! Off to check that out!

That is wonderful! My omni husband courted me with vegan cooking - that's what I like to eat, and he knew the recipes (from Orthdox Christian fasting cuisine).

Yea for vegan-friendly omni family :)

Yea!!  I love it when they love it!
I got my mom and sister on board (sis years ago), now if I could figure out how to stop my dad from trying to sneak things by me (I haven't gotten loudly angry yet and thrown a fit, but .  >:( ..I'll save the stories for another thread).
Congrats and props to your hubbie for trying!  :D

I'll have to try that idea. Getting my family and friends in on it with me. Ha..But I'll probably have to veganize the recipes myself before putting them on vegweb. Still, it's worth a shot!

That's great news Yabbit! I cook stuff that my boyfriend likes, also. The thing is, he eats as much veggies as I do, but he REFUSES to give up meat. So if I cook vegan for a day or two, he complains about not having meat. BUT he does like what I cook ;)

My family has no idea how easy it is to cook vegan, or to veganize recipes.  I am winning them over with a lot of things, but most of all my VCTOTW.  (Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World).  They cannot imagine that the cupcakes are so moist and delicious.  My Tofu Chocolate Pie was a great hit at Xmas as well as my Chocolate Peanut Balls.  I make fruit shakes with Tofu and they think it is ice cream that makes them thick!

I have cooked other things of course, but my family can really be won over with sweets!

So far I have converted my best friend and my sister.  My Sis still eats cheese and procucts with hidden egg.  I don't want to push.  My best guy friend became vegan because I was able to actually tell him the truth about animal cruelty.  He does like the health benefits too.

I am making progress too!
