Mother's Day Plans?

Anyone got 'em? If so, what's the plan?
As usual, I need ideas! I live close to my mom so I usually surprise her with breakfast treats but I want to do something really special this year... any ideas??
I'm having mine over for dinner..
My mom's a sucker for flowers, so maybe I'll get her some flowers (we already planted our garden flowers). Maybe we'll plant some herbs because our all inexplicably died. I really hadn't thought about it, so I'm just thinking publicly.
we were just talking about this the other night. We'll probably have either a brunch or a lunch with my mum and my nana , maybe afternoon tea or something with my oma , and dinner with my husband's mum.
Busy!
No interesting ideas though, sorry!
Yeah, I'm in with flowers and I'm thinking I might show up early and actually make her breakfast in bed?? Or do you think she will be like, "What are you doing!?!?"
I just realized i got my mom her presents like a month ago. Haha. (I like giving things early) I'll probably get her something little since its been so long.
my mom's b-day was yesterday, so we're lumping mother's day in with that next weekend.....I asked her if there was anything she wanted/needed and she said she wants me to "make her green"....so I'm gonna get her a recycling bin, reusable grocery bags, a bunch of Seventh Generation stuff and whatever else I can think of....
I think I want to have them over for dinner, or take dinner to them. I think I'm also going to bake a batch of cinnamon rolls for my mom, and leave the whole thing there so she can enjoy MD for the rest of the week.

That is an excellent idea!
My mother is one of those people that has 10 of everything and is really hard to shop for. She is also about 1,000 miles away, so doing something with her isn't an option. My daughter made her a "book" out of magazine clippings, but beyond that I am at a loss. She did request 2 obsure things, so maybe I'll have luck finding them. I'd just knd of like to surprise her with something.
My mom has a florist she always calls for my grandmothers in PA. So they get flowers, and the one that is still alive gets a phone call. Out family isn't big on talking on the phone, so I suppose that's special.
My mother's birthday is tomorrow, so I was planning on buying her a cookbook. Not because she is unable to cook well, but she keeps saying that she needs more ideas. So I will send her a vegetarian cookbook. I still haven't got a clue which one, though, because it has to be in French. For mother's day, I am not sure yet.
My siblings and I reenacted some photos from when we were kids (a la http://www.zefrank.com/youngmenowme/blog/) - we're going to frame the old and new versions side by side for a more interesting spin on the framed-photos-of-us gift. We went to thrift stores and pretty closely matched our ridiculous 80s outfits in the originals - they look awesome!
Take her to a nail salon and have your nails done together.
I'm trying to figure out what meal to make...
I got my Mom tickets to a Celtic Women concert. She totally loves that kind of music, but wouldn't splurge on good seats for herself & my Dad, so that is what I did.
being a mother now I get to be celebrated as well yay! Fo mom, we're going out for a picinic and to take the grandbabies, (my 2-year old daughter and 2 year old niece,) to the park. I'm going to make some cupcakes. For MY celebration I'm probably not supposed to plan the whole thing, but I want to go to Pizza Luce's mimosoa brunch, where they have lots of vegan options OR go to the raw food restuarant for its brunch. Then I get to go have my 'family birthday party.' my b-day is the 11th, (so last year it fell on mother's day).

Sounds like a fun day! We are going to have a long walk in our neighborhood with the dogs. Hubby has told me that I can sleep in late and he'll make vegan pancakes & a fresh fruit salad with our 3 year old for breakfast.

Sleeping in late would be the best gift ever! (I don't think its humanely possible anymore, even if I really tried.)
This may be the first time I'm not going to be with my mom on Mother's Day. We used to always go to the Arboretum and see the lilacs and everything. But we'll probably video chat. I have something that I was going to send her a few months ago and never got around to sending, so I should probably send that along with a card.

My mom loves Celtic Women, too!
