random story

So my husband and I have a friend who's been vegetarian for quite a while, she lives on campus, and we live within walking distance of campus since he's still a student.  Well, she had an abundance of squash.  Thus she invited us to dinner.

We walk to her dorm, and notice that behind her dorm, near where the college greenhouse and vegetable farm is, there is a brand new addition: goats.

I LOVE goats.... They are fenced in, so they can eat away some of the excess weeds, etc in this one area.  We stop by the fence (electric...fence...) to look at the goats. This big. BIG. goat.... stares me down, and the next thing I know it's under the fence  and right in front of me stomping angrily.  I slowly move away and we call public safety so they can get a better system going or something cuz i mean... in the fence the goat is at least a live, and outseide the fence, it's gonna get hit by a car.  3o seconds before the officer gets there, the goat climbs back under the fence.

So. On the way to eat squash, i was threatened by a goat. Ahhhh Kentucky.....

Your story made me chuckle fufuberry....but it is a serious problem if he gets out again. Not only can he get hurt outside the pen but if he's as ornery as he sounds, he's gonna' kick someones ass.
At least he knew enough to climb back in. Is there someone around that is keeping an eye on them?

well they SAID they are going to fix the fence, but honestly, I don't think our public safety unit is worth much.  We'ere not far though, we can check on occasion, but I would think there would be someone at the green house who checks them, makes sure they have food, etc.

Post a note at the greenhouse, or slide it under the door. If they don't have anything to do with the goats per se, they will contact whoever does. If Mr Goat gets out and squares off with the wrong person, he could end up shot, or as someone's barbecue.
