Reasons to smile
I guess not everyone needs to find a reason, but... What made you smile and/or laugh today?
My first LOL of the day was caused by this LOLdog.
I went to the uniform laundry room at work yesterday, to ask if I could try on a size smaller in my trousers. And they fit! The laundry lady asked me if I needed a new shirt, too, so I tried the next size down in that, too. And it fit! Wow. My pants had been slipping down my hips a little for weeks, but last week they got ridiculously slippy. So happy to have confirmation that my body's changing shape/size a little. :iloveyou:
Humming along to the occasional good song at work... it's amazing how much it can lift my mood. ;)b
Overhearing customers' reactions when they can't decide whether flowers are real or not. It's hilarious either way - when they think fake are real, or real are fake. ;D
Since starting Cali on a raw diet on May 20th, fur is starting to grow in places where I never thought it would grow again from her mange. Her coat was also very greasy and it stopped being greasy on day two of putting her on a natural diet.
My 4 baby squirrels are leaving the balcony during the day to explore. Coming back only early evening to play and sleep. Hopefully they will soon move on and I can screen off my balcony. I love them but want my balcony back.
Biko, my parrot turned 19 June 1st. :)>>> Isabela, my Mexican street dog died June 1st three years ago. :'( But I now look at her picture and remember all the love and joy she brought in to my life. OK, I still shed a tear but I know she paved the path for Cali to enter my life.
I discovered sunflower sprouts and they are oh so yummy in a sandwich! With tomato, avocado, and tofurky slices.
Being on a bit of a holiday! (even though it's stressful money wise its nice to be free and non stressed)
Being out of Auckland!
Being with my best friend!
Meeting Heli on the way!
Gin!
Noticed yesterday that a dog at my work had bloat. he went to the emergency vet's & got through surgery successfully! The sweet guy is now recovering.

love. :)>>>
My husband's birthday dinner at the in-laws last night, he requested his mum's traditional lasagne, it's one of those supreme comfort foods for him.
Because my mother-in-law is awesome, she also made up a small dish of pumpkin, tomato, onion, celery and red wine lasagne for me. The family decided between them that my dish was better than their childhood favourite!
I was so stoked! Love it when non-veg*ns get surprised by how awesome vegan food can be, it seriously helps ease the path to conversion... hehehe
My favorite bar in the city has had $3 burger specials on Mondays for some time now. The past few times I've gone they've given me my choice of veggie burger or black bean burger for $3 as well, even though it's not technically on the "burger menu." At first I thought our waitress was just being nice to me (I was with a bunch of omnis the first time) but no, I found out today that it's actually part of the special now. Cheap veggie burgers and good beer! Hooray!
Got my teeth cleaned and a tooth filled yesterday, and it didn't take all day. And she was painless(the dentist I mean.) We were done in like an hour.

oh yeah, so here's some smile-worthy stuff:
seeing Cali (with her lovely profile and all!) here again
seeing secondbase here again
having VW peeps being so supportive and cheering me on as I start to move forward..
...and seeing so many others who find the same strength and sense of family/community here.
<3
It's almost Thursday. :)>>> :)>>> :)>>>
ETA: Oops. Ahem,<cough cough> I meant to put the 8) 8) 8) smiley...cuz I'm cool...not at all over-excited....
today rocked! 8-)
CW, he seems to be doing well now. He's 9 years old so I was kind of concerned about them doing the surgery and whether he would make it, but it's been a few days now and everything seems to be going smoothly (well, as smoothly as it can after something like this!) I talked to my co-worker yesterday & she said that if we waited 15 more minutes the dog probably wouldn't have survived. :/ but he did! Now, if only my work would reward me in some way, like giving me a raise...heh.
here's a picture of Sydney:
My reason to smile today is VW - even when I'm having a really crappy week, I know that I always have my VW friends. Thanks for always being here :)>>>
lotus made me smile today
thinking of VW when i was on the toilet also made me smile.
It makes me smile to know that I have made someone else smile. :flower:
and lotus made me smile again!

Over the weekend I ate a minimum of six pounds of blueberries - and stopped pooping. It might have been fiber overload. Last night I finally had a poop and thought of vegweb.
no poop was involved, maybe *ahem* egg-like consistency fluids!
Yay, Sydney! and hooray for tino!
Damn....You really did save his life. :)>>> I hope that Your coworkers/employers at least make You like, Employee of the Month or something...
heehee, that pic of Sydney reminds me of this doggie:

Oh, and I'm smiling about the fact that Urban Dictionary has the following definitions for...
Whargarbl:
(n.) A useless or unproductive excersize.
(v.) To waste time and effort.
(n.) The noise made by a dog's mouth as it bites the stream of water coming from a lawn sprinkler.
:D

that's funny... I often think of VegWeb whenever I have a really good poop.
and I'm totally not kidding, hehe...
