The "SAY SOMETHING NICE RIGHT NOW" Thread
This is something I do with my children when they have been insulting or generally acting nasty to each other. I thought it would be nice to do it here. The rules are you have to say something
1. to someone you've never said anything nice to before (for whatever reason)
2. that is affirmatively nice
3. about that person
So, for example "jkl I really like how your screen name has three letters in a row" is not particularly affirmatively nice about me, whereas "jkl, . . . . " Okay, well, I can't think of anything, but you get my drift.
I'll start.
Yabbitgirl: I am really impressed that you are vegetarian in Spain. I haven't been there in many years, but if it's the same as say, fifteen years ago, I can't imagine a more veg-unfriendly place. You must have a lot of conviction. And I really like your posts.

you click on 'post new topic' i'm pretty sure its at the top right of the message board when you are looking at all of the threads.
this thread makes me wish that i payed more attention to peoples names. i just know people by their pictures, when people change their pictures, i usually go on for a bout a week or so thinking that theres a new person around... only to realize that the name looks rather familiar... hmmm.

awww, thanks! I actually just snipped off a few inches (the ends were getting scraggly) a few hours ago.
I finally checked out your photos....you have VERY pretty eyes...and, well, perfect eyebrows, IMO. and your Bella is a beauty, too!
oh, and it really warms my heart to hear that....I know that I once agreed with society's unhappy misconceptions about rats, until I met some friends with pet ratties, and I fell in love. Yes, wild rats can be vicious, dirty, and disease-spreading, just like wild dogs and cats....but by nature, they're wonderful creatures, and domesticated, they make great companions.

PrettyinPunk -- i love your honesty, and the fact that you spawned a legend (the drugs thread) you remind me a little of myself a couple years ago, and you are so cute!
baypuppy -- your knowledge, especially when your gender expertise shows through, keeps me excited about learning
cephi -- you really think about what you say before you say it, and you are very well worded, AND you always make me THINK about the issue at hand. and you are very handsome
meggs, hespedal, humboldt honey, shaolin bunny, mdvegan, jennifer hughs, basically all the smart and crazy-ass ladies on here, you make me smile and i love you
and to (almost) everyone on vegweb, you make my life a joy, no matter how koo koo bananas you all are!
Capture, every post you make makes me happy. You always have something kind, supportive, loving, and insightful to say and your attentive enthusiasm is inspiring. I know I am a rare visitor to the boards lately, but I am so glad to see you here when I come by. I don't think I've ever told you before.
So many more of you are deserving of thanks and love too... thank you to many of the forum "old timers" for their frequent and loving support and guidance. I think I've said it to you before; if not, I think you must understand how much I care about you.

Twink, gotskates, violin, PiP and ROF- I think it is so cool that you guys became vegan so young! I wish I was as smart as you guys, I just flirted with vegetarianism when I was in junior high and didn't become vegan till college :(.
Zealia- I love your conviction. You always have amazing ides and views and I love to read them, you are very smart and have obviously done your research on what you believe in!
laurabs- I love how open you are and how much you yearn to change. Whether it be EDs or baking, you tell people straight up that you aren't perfect and you help everyone else admits those fault and GROW. Your column also rocks.
JenniferHughes and Little2ant- You are so committed to the health of your family! I love that and know that the world is a better place with your kiddo's in it!
Meggs- Your life reformation amazes me, you have so much will power and strength and you are truely working towards being the best person you can be, I am glad that (as YOU say) vegweb has been a great asset to you!
JessaCita- If nothing else, I would have profound respect for how well thought out all of your posts are! You truly put great time and thought into each one (all those bolds? I can barely even capitalize anything!). But really, you are a cool chick and you levelheadedness is astounding.
hopfrog- I may have told you this before, but I love your commitment to sustainability. Maybe it's just me loving the like mindedness, but I love reading your posts.
nutdragon- You don't think anyone notices you (I've read it in a few posts), but I do. I love your profile. I don't like that you accept those inconsistencies and circumstantial things about yourself. A lot of people like to believe they are 'one way,' and one way only.
duckalucky- Besides the fact that you live in AG (which I need to get down to some day soon), I love your commitment to the health of animals, I can't remember which thread in particular (it may have been the cat food one), but your conviction touched me.
Cali- You can cook, girl! If I were to ever open a five start vegan restaurant I would want you there for help. You always know how to pull a menu/meal together to be something a little more special.
Ecstatic- I love that you are such a logical/scientific thinker and aren't afraid of stating your opinions. As I have said before, they rock, and I have a lot of similar views (though some dissenting, as well ;))
Cephi- I guess I have told you this, but your wit is amazing. Definitely one of my favorite people to read the posts of.
Lotus- I love your minimalistic views, and that you are constantly trying to improve yourself! I think it is great when people realize there is always more that can be done!
Hiimkelsi and TinTaxas(where is she?)- I admire you guys for being vegan in Texas (there are probably others I am forgetting..). I especially can't believe T can do it without her DH being veg*n as well!
capture and amandabrooke- I love your devotion to animals rights! You totally inspired me to want to protest with your KFC and running of the nudes! You go, girls!
DaveDrum- Your compassion for animals never ceases to amaze me! I am always happy to hear form you, because to me you are anything but an 'angry vegan.'
Carrot_wench- I love that you are so cool about not fitting th stereotypes, and you are yet another that seems to share my passion for minimalism :).
Yabbit- You have a very kind heart and I always enjoy reading your posts. I have tremendous respect for you putting up with everything and holding strong.
MDVegan- I think you are a vegan goddess. Your love of animals is amazing and I always want to eat your goodies (they always seem like such yummy goodies-- but so healthy!)
lime green- You are so outspoken about veganism, and in such a short time! I hope that one day I can be as crazy as you and go around telling everyone that there are dead baby cows in condoms and they should GO VEG!
Camillus- I agree with whoever gave you the compliment of peacemaker! I am alwasy so happy to see you have intervened somewhere, and people don't just tell you to fuck off, they respect you. Way to go!
baypuppy- I can't even begin to tell you how much I respect you, you are so dedicated to keeping this community what it is and making sure everyone is happy and safe. Your ideas rock, your posts rock, you rock.
jkl- I love your vegan FOOD/RECIPE knowledge. You are always there to help everyone out. Also, I do like your screen name. One of my old bosses had the initials JKL and I would call him jackal. Also, I think you are great for starting this thread and spreading the love :-*.
Di- You are another one of the people that is so open to their faults and committed to change. I love your goals and how you keep us updated how you (and your doggie, for that matter) are doing! Thanks!

Doughbunny--always helpful, valuable contributions in spite of the language barrier. Your English is pretty darn good! I admire anyone who actually can manage the Roman alphabet alongside their own. I've never managed the reverse, and I did try Russian and Japanese--got nowhere! :-[
The BookPeople--you make a warm, shiny spot in my mind. I always see you as my surrogate parents...which is silly, but I wish you had been mine.

there are so many here that I can't thank enough or say enough about. meggs - I truly appreciate your words of support. it seems like we've gone through similar things, and it's wonderful to know veganism has gotten you through it. it's like a light at the end of the tunnel, a silver lining.

Since I'm a bit of a vegweb n00b :D, I'm still getting to know everyone's personality...but let me just say how much you vegwebbers have helped me in my first 3 months of being vegan:
--Your conviction - Seeing how committed you all are encourages me stick to my guns about being vegan. You remind me why I came here in the first place!
--You intelligence - All of the thoughtful, articulate posts make me think. I am getting better and better at explaining veganism to myself and others.
--Your humor - These threads have made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion. Vegweb brightens my day!
--Your gorgeousness! - I swear, everyone hear is so ridiculously good-looking! I daresay vegans are, on average, more attractive than the general populace. Someone should do a study about that.
Your creativity, your candor, your kindness, your support.....I could go on and on!
