Simple minded question...need some reassurance
OK, so I'm a technotoddler, which means I know pretty much bubkes about computers. Mine is about 7 yrs old and the software is so old Windows won't let me update the Explorer. A professional tried. And it's ancient, and we need more memory, and blah blah blah. So the CD recorder formatted a couple of DH's discs instead of copying them, and he got righteous and went out and bought a new CPU which will be here on Monday.
So...the idiot question part. My ISP is still the same, but I have the idiotic fear that I won't be able to sign into my favourite websites, like VW and Refuge and a few others. I know I'm being stupid, because if my sign in is the same it shouldn't matter that it's coming from a different machine, right?
OK, OK...I know I'm being stupid but I also have a fever and a very sore throat, and as Mr Elton said, "its effects are exceedingly bleak". So just be nice, reassure me. I'll be able to VW, won't I?
Oh yes. You'll be able to get back here. You have no excuse. ;)
I log on all the time from different machines. In the library, on my mom's iPhone, on my computer, on my old computer...you'll be fine as long as you can remember your passwords.

I don't think VW would even be the same without you here! I like your sense of humor and friendly frankness in your posts. I also love having a fellow ex-pat in the forums which makes me feel so less lonely!!
Never fear Yabbit! You simply need to remember the bookmarks, log in IDs and passwords to your favorite locations and then can visit on the new computer. While you can export a copy of your bookmarks to a disc and import it onto your new computers' Explorer, I usually find it refreshing to start new and bookmark my current favorites as I go along. Rather than wade through years worth of old bookmarks.
