Just for fun - Tattoos...who's got 'em, where, and what of? Who doesn't have one but wants one? Myself, I don't have any but have thought about getting one for a long time.
Just curious :)
Also, I've been dying to get a tattoo , just trying to decide what to get :-\
curse being underage! i do have a few idea's though. i want the misfits skull symbol or a koi fish on my foot. i also think that getting an egyptian ankh or some other symbolic symbol on either your wrist or ankle would be neat.
Funny story to go along with the misfit topic. For my birthday my mom found a pair of shoes that she thought I would like mainly because she thought they looked cute because they had pink polka dots. So she sent me my present and when i opened them they were Misfits Vegan slip on shoes!! So i called her and said thanks mom ( picture the whole conversation in Spanish) But did you realize that these shoes are from a band called the misfits and the shoes are also vegan!! and she said I just liked them because they look cute. I was like wow thanks mom if you only heard the music this band plays it might have changed your mind about buying them for me... it was so cute that she randomly chose shoes that were 1) by the misfits and 2) vegan hahahah...moms are so dear :)
ooh!!! what size shoe do you wear? lol. i may have to steal em' ;). were they dravens?
btw, i'm getting a misfits backpack tommorow :)!!!!
Haha...7 1/2 We can swap....You send me some of those HUGE pumpkin cookies and I'll let you borrow them ;)
Yeah Draven...and Sweet!! on the backpack!

Not to sound like anyone's mother, but the age limit is actually one I agree with. If I'd been allowed to get the tattoo that I wanted when I was 16, I'd be miserable right now! I got my first one when I was nineteen.
I've heard that the most painful areas are the hands and feet because they are right on the bone. For me, my most painful tattoos have been the ones on my spine. Those also took the longest. Ouch!
I only have pics of three of my tattoos. Enjoy.
I have a purple crocus on my ankle. I want to get another but I'm really undecided as to exactly what I want and where I want it.
Ok nobody laugh, you guys tattoos put mine to shame!!!!!
The dove and heart I got when I was 20 and in Georgia. The flower was when I was 22. I also have one that says Austyn, my son's name, on my leg. None so far at 23.
I have three right now. I have plans for two more but am waiting for the right artist. I will try to take pictures tonight and post them later.
Two dragonflies on my back flying together and an om on my inner right wrist.
I also have art for a large back piece that will be a nude woman in full scorpion pose and a lotus flower for my inner left wrist.
I don't find them painful but have a very strict rule. I will NOT get a tattoo until I have lived with the idea for at least three years. There have been so many things that I thought would be really cool and a year or two later I am very thankful that I didn't get them.
I've got 2 tiger lilies on my upper back between the shoulder blades. I've had it for about 3 1/2 years now. I guess it hurt, but it wasn't unbearable. It certainly hurt much less than when I got my nipple peirced...the tattoo was easier to take care of and alot less itchy too! However, don't get anything you might regret later. Mine is pretty, I still like it, but I don't plan on getting any more. I'd get it again if I had a a choice.

Holy cow..you say the others' put yours to shame...but the flower going up your ribs HAD to feel like more than a few mosquito bites!! That's a great location, btw.
I have one! It's on the inside of my right ankle, and it's a wreath of laurel leaves. My girlfriends and I got them in college...although they all got them on their butts! I decided that the ankle was better because I could show it to people without showing my @rse! hehe
Actually, I got one on a whim when I was 19 and then 6 years later I decided I wanted it off of me (ok, it wasn't a total whim, since I designed it myself). But anyway, I got it lasered off which hurt 10 times as much, and cost about 12 times as much. It is still faintly there, but good enough for me. I wish I had the $ from all of it! Its at least a mortgage payment! :o
i have my foot and knees and shoulders done with kinda plants and my arm with red stars and a v on my ring finger for vegan will try ad post pictures
Oh my goodness!!!!I was JUSt thinking of posting this exact topic! I have one tattoo...I got it when I was 18 and about to turn 19---while I was at BIBLE COLLEGE!!! :D . I got it because it was the last thing in the world anyone would expect me to do! Its on my lower back, to the left...some people say its my @$$ but i really call it lower back.... ::) Its a little dragonfly that i desighned myself. ts really small- like the size of a silver dollar...the guy wouldn't let me leave a tip because he said it was so small that He shouldn't have even charged me the shop minimum of $50.00! Its slightly abstract and loopy...so everyone always asks me if it's a signature ??? Whatever....SOOOO Ive been thinking about either
getting another one or covering the one I have...or adding to the one I have. This is what i want...it came up here on VEGWEB before:

In'it lovely? ::)
Zealia - that's a cool tattoo!! I don't have any tattoos, but only because I have commitment issues. I'd love to get one eventually though :)
Okay, bookmama checking in here. I got my first tat when I was 51. CeltKat had just gotten her first so she went with me to get mine. It's a tribal sun, moon, star in a place that usually stays under cover. ;) My younger daughter and I went together about 4 years ago, I guess, and got identical Japanese calligraphic letters, hers in a place that's usually under cover and mine on my right ankle. Mine is a bit larger than hers. Just a little mother-daughter bonding. Both my girls have two each as do I. CeltKat and I are considering getting "ahimsa" tattooed above one of our existing tats when bookpapa and I go to Boston in November to visit her.
I had wanted to get a tattoo for years. Back in the 60s there was a little hole-in-the-wall head shop in the Buckhead area of Atlanta and they had tubes of henna paste. I used to get those and "tattoo" my palms.
On a side note, it's the women in the family that have tattoos. The gents are tat free!
for my 19th birthday (two years from now ;) ) I plan on getting a tatoo that incorporates the spanish word for peace (paz) and the word for hope (fe) as well as a dove or a peace sign or some sign of peace. Most likely on my lower back or shoulder. It will be just after I've gotten out of Americorps NCCC and am ready to enter college so I feel like it will be a milestone that I want to enjoy :)
my friend has two absolutely fabulous tatoos that I love. She was a broke 18 year old but really wanted to get one for her birthday so she got a very small peace sign (like the size of a penny might even be stretching how big it is) in the middle of her big toe, like beneath the nail and above her foot. I think it's just adorable. She also has a really neat star and moon on her shoulder that her parents paid for.
All of your tatoos are beautiful ;)

That is freakin' sweet! Do you know who designed that? One of my graphic design professors would absolutely love it!
I'm not sure who designed it...I found it on a blog someone mentined here.

When I was down at Emerald Isle last week my twin and I got henna tattoos on our left arms. Mine is the japenese sign for budda and her's is the japenese sign for wicked.
I would love to have that Kat Von D from Miami Ink do a portrait of my dad. Her work is amazingly life like.
