You are here

That's it! I need a new homepage.

My HP computer was programmed to automatically send me to aol news when I log onto the internet.  It's been two years and I can't take it anymore.  "Find out Demi Moore's favorite body wash" was one of today's headlines.  The other day it was "Kendra's flossing mistakes."  I don't even know who Kendra is.

I would appreciate some suggestions for internet homepages!  I generally like newsy ones, but I'd love to hear what people use.  Thanks!

I just use hotmail, and have it signed into email....
you could do MSN, but it will probably be similar to aol.
Fox news? ;)

Fox news--now there's a thought. That's certainly one way to cut down on spending too much time on the internet!

;D  Nicely said.

I use nin.com as my homepage...but only because NIN is my only obsession. Umm..what about a site that features "word of the day" or "quote of the day" or "this day in history"? This'll give you little seeds of info as you go about your day.

This. I could set VW to be my homepage...but then I'd never get anything done.  ;D

I have the BBC page right now - you can customise it and add and remove boxes so you get news and info you want.

You might try awesomestart.com for something plain, it has a ton of different backgrounds with a simple Google search box.

We use Symbaloo. It's a site that lets you plug in all of your favorites and then you can just have them all on one page in front of you. It means that I have every vegan site right in front of me. You can do separate pages if you like by food, games, etc...Very handy! It also means that you have it with an user name and password, so you can log into any computer and still take your favorites with you.

Wow, whenever I post a question on this board I always get a bunch of suggestions for great sites I didn't know about. (Except I knew about fox news, unfortunately.)  Thanks!

I use a customized Google homepage.  If you have a Google account (ala GMail) then you can customize the browser page to have a specific skin (aka look) news excerpts, blog feeds, weather, and so much more.  Plus if you get too many say vegan blog fees on your home page you can create secondary tabs and have another one for other interests.  hehe  I have four tabs.  :D
