Anyone live near or on a time zone? There are places like that right?
Sorry, I've never really crossed a time zone besides on plane.
I was wondering if anyone has any interesting stories about that...
or information if I'm completely off on how it works.
Weird things to think of first thing in the morning, I know. ^_^
We all live in a time zone. Oh, you mean near the change mark. No, can't say I have. I wonder if they have lines drawn down the pavement saying, "Change your watch here" or something.
haha, yea. I was wondering how it would be if you were ordering a pizza and maybe the pizza joint was on the hour forward part of town.
I'm sure they'd specify EST or something...

I've never heard of a town being separated in to two time zones. States, yeah. I think the difference will only be huge if your traveling around the world, not just the country.
ETA: I guess if you want to get specific, if you travel from New York to Hawaii it is a five hour difference. But then again it is half way across the globe.
Tennessee has two different zones. Alabama and Georgia are in different zones. IF you change times zones while driving, there's usually a sign telling you the difference.
cool! thanks. I thought it was interesting thinking of it.
How it would be for commuters say from georgia going to work in Alabama.
I mean not a big deal, just thought it'd be funny. "Gotta be to work at 5, so I got to leave at ....5."
Some parts of Indiana don't follow the daylight savings time changes.

yeah, my parents lived in fort wayne and they did not-it drove my mom crazy because they were surrounded by towns that did!

I thought they changed that recently? I know some if not all of AZ does not follow DST.

Yup, it's like flying from Madrid to NY at certain times of year...you get there at the same time you left--of the same day!! Surreal!
AHHHH ITS LIKE TIME TRAVEL :D :o

It's just a jump to the left...
Friends of mine went to Ecuador, and the "imaginary" line is actually paved into the ground... :o Of course, the Equator is not a time zone...

Oh, but that'd be so fun to stand on. And just stare up into the sky and think of how you are on the center belt of the world...
weeee! haha.
Yeah I live close to one of those imaginary lines. There is a sign on the highway telling you that you are passing into a different time zone. There have been times when I had to pass over the line to work but it only an hour diffence so doesn't relly matter much. There is one town in our province which does not change their clocks when the rest of the province does. That is a little weird, as I have a friend who lives there and it takes us a few days to get our schedules adjusted to the differnces. The strangest time zone difference we deal with are between my wife here and her mother in Greece. We will call her on Monday and it is already Tuesday there. I don't know why but that seems strage to me.
