Treehouse design ideas?

Hey Guys!
I met with the builder of my treehouse yesterday, and we came up with a preliminary design. It is sooo cool! It's going to be circular, have a huge open kitchen (with a 3 compartment sink, gas stove, huge pantry, and all of the counter space will be cutting board which even folds over the sink to make it 1 or 2 compartment if wanted), lots of covered outdoor patio, outdoor bathtub, a fireplace and you'll be able to gaze at the stars in your bed  because of a special opening in the roof. I'm doing sketches and stuff right now, so I'm curious as to what you would put in your treehouse, or what design elements you'd want?

that.

A dish washer! oh ya! lots of skylights , natral wood deck railings. Post your plans when you have them. I`d really like to see them.
I was just talking about moving to Costa Rica tonight. We would like to move there as well.  Angie, ;)b

Thanks for the support guys. I sketched in a few more things: A drawbridge as the entrance and a fire pole! So you can slide right down from the top to ground in a matter of seconds. It's only one level but I put in a platform that goes all around the top of the inside (Railed) that you get to with a ladder.. I was thinking of using that area as my office. And the cool thing is you can access the fire pole from this top sub balconyish area, too.  This place is going to be SOO cool.

Yes, I own a lot at http://www.fincabellavista.net and my treehouse is scheduled for completion on April 1, right after I'm done cooking school.

Yes, you certainly should! I agree with your suggestions.. luckily everything is going to be beautiful natural wood like bamboo. I will certainly post the plans when they are finalized.

Alright, have to share my excitement.. Had another meeting with the builder and finalized the design. I'll have pics to post soon.
The builder is actually a gourmet chef in a past life and he had some really cool ideas to add. Like, we're going to put trap holes on the counters (with a compost bin or trash under) so I can just slide waste from chopping and stuff into them. And we're going to mount a hidef movie projector in the center and I'll have iTunes visuals playing on my huge screen while I'm cooking. Good times. Oh, and I added an extra bedroom, for guests :)  ;)b

How many square feet are you talking?  Do they make mulit-story tree houses?  I'd love to bathe on my porch.  Major envy there.

Originally I was planning 6 to 800 sq feet, but now it's about 1200. And yes they make multistory tree houses -- the other one built there already is 2 levels and it is sweet. Mine will have an upper loft, so 1.5 levels :)

For comparison, my house is 1050 square feet.  How do y'all wash your clothes there?

I could put in a washer and a dryer, or use the community laundry center they're building. But what I plan to do is to hire the wife of one of the local workers to do my laundry. Some other guys do that and it works out great: it's dirt cheap, they come back all clean and folded, and they love to do it and it pumps money into the local community.

The reason the SQ footage is so big is because a lot of it is covered outdoor patio..

Is this a rap around deck or one large patio? And are you growing a tail to swing from the branches with? (jus kidding) :-D

swiss family robinson.

actually how green and sustainable is your design, would you upload a blueprint?
sounds like a really fun project.
i have my sea container project in my head, utilizing step/roof garden at primary insulation.

Alrighty. So, I would like a little more info on this sustainability/conservation thing. I read some on the site...and read about how it's a place for ecologically like-minded people...but..it's still using up land/trees in the rain forest. You might have already explained this some where, but I haven't seen it.

Our apartment is like 520 sq ft...and it's plenty big.
