vegan chef envy...

So, my friend who is home in CT for the summer just sent me a facebook message saying that there is currently a vegan chef in her house cooking meals for her entire family.  :o :o :o

She's not even vegan!  ha!  I'm so jealous!

Dude!    :o

You know, this won't be a problem when we form our vegweb commune.  We'll all cook meals for everyone else all the time.  ;)

but really, when are we going to do this? i would be willing to be one of the starting up people and we could all chip in X amount of dollars to get ourselves set up with all kinds of windmills and gardens and such.... maybe we could also make ourselves a NP by becoming a farm sanctuary and get donations... yeah?

If you had a chef, you wouldn't be able to cook! I want to be your vegan chef.

AND I'm tired of all these jokes about the commune! I want some commitments..I think it would be the most fabulous thing ever imagined. We just need at least one person who  has a little bit of money to help us get started...

I'm currently at the end of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand...so I've been thinking about this 'commune' idea more! Everyone should read the book, btw; it's wonderful.

Who's in?!  :^

edit after hesp's post....yay!!! I'll start it with you!

Well, I have a job commitment for the next two years in CT, so you all get her started and I'll come find you when I'm done.  :-\

Yeah, AC's right though, with a chef you cannot cook for yourself!  It's funny that the family isn't even vegan.  But also awesome.  More omni families should eat vegan just for the heck of it.  :)

we need lots of people with a small amount of money. otherwise it ain't very communal.
anyway... we need to figure out a location....

Oh wow, this is the first I've read about this idea on here but it's far from the first time I've thought about it. If there were a chance to realize this, my chips would be all in. Seriously, I would so love to shrug off the burdens of society and live how I am supposed to.

So... thinking seriously about this, what are the steps to take to make it happen? If we can figure out location and what would be needed to get things started up (money and resource wise), then we could figure out how many people it takes to make it feasible.

We started a thread about it!

Yes, I thought about the "not coooking for myself" aspect of having a chef.  So I concluded that I would like to have a chef for the nights that I want something complicated but don't feel like cooking.  That doesn't happen too often, but sometimes I get home late.  That would be nice.

And no, the family isn't vegan, but my friend said her mom wants to eat healthier, and that's why she hired the vegan chef.  Awesome.
