Vegetable garden this year?

Hi
I just put in my early spring garden. (I live in CA) Since produce costs are rising, I really want to cut down on my food bill by growing some of my own again this year.
So, who else is putting in a vegetable garden this year?
I just started seeds in a window box (inside) last night. There's snow on the ground and they're forecasting inches more, but my brain is already on the summertime. I will transplant some of the seeds to larger pots to be on the patio this summer, but the herbs will probably just stay inside. And get eaten. I already feel like I'm beating winter.
I am definitely having a garden this summer!
I have already built 4/6(possibly 9) raised beds they are 16x4 each and I plan on growing intensively or square foot gardening. I took lots of bags of leafs from neighbors and put most of them in the beds so hopefully they have composted some.
I want to grow lots of greens! (kale, collard, cilantro, chard, parsley, spinach, turnip, mustard, and various salad greens) Also some melons, summer squash, tomatoes, hot peppers, green beans, peas, and various herbs and edible flowers. I want to rely on the farmers market and another local farmer for most of my melons, sweet peppers, corn, and most of my tomatoes. I really am looking forward to this summer.........
