As for me;
I was curious about why white chocolate is white, so I wiki'd it, found that it was the lack of theobromine (found in cocoa, which white chocolate has none of, except cocoa butter), which I turned and read up on, and found this:
The amount of theobromine found in chocolate is small enough that it can be safely consumed by humans, but animals that metabolize theobromine more slowly, such as dogs, can succumb to theobromine poisoning from as little as 50 grams of chocolate for a smaller dog and 400 grams for an average-sized dog. The same risk is reported for cats as well, although cats are less likely to ingest sweet food, having no sweet taste receptors.
So I learned why chocolate is bad for animals, and that cats have no sweet taste receptors! Pssht, yeah right they don't, why else would mine be constantly licking me? ;)
If this is the first thread anyone ever read on this board, they would have learned that I have a drinking problem. ;D
SB I got soooooooooooooooo sick off of whiskey one night.... I was trying to drink neck in neck with some guys (firefighters even so they are big)....trying to show I was some tough girl or something....all 120 pounds of me...ya...I think you can pretty well imagine what happened next! I was crying over the toilet bowl barfing my brains out....whiskey is EVIL >:D
Anisette is waaay worse. You want a very nasty hangover, anisette is your tipple. The sweet version is flat-down dangerous cuz it goes down so easy--for binge drinkers, it can be the kiss of death.
I have learned that I actually sleep **better** without the OTC sleeping meds. I wake up more rested and can get more done during the day.
I have learned that having AC in the house has changed my life. Summer used to be 3 mos of minimum activity and a lot of TV watching. Now, I can get on with life.
I also learned that my local Trader Joe has vegan ice cream so I bought 3 tubs.
Obviously, we're waiting for details.
Pretty good to be honest, I tried the vanilla last night and the ball and chain tried the cherry chocolate and seemed to like it too. I'm not a cherry fan so she has that all to herself, I'll give the chocolate one a try tonight and report out to the team. Buying my own ice cream maker has been put on hold!
Peanut butter pretzels go well with coffee and therefore, are now an official breakfast food.
I'm on this forum for research in another thread, but since you asked, today I learned that honey does not fit into a vegan diet. It makes sense, I just would have never thought of it, and I learned that today! Thanks!

Well, I am going to post for yesterday since it is still morning right now.
I learned what it feels like to have your fingers on your belly and feel a tiny foot (feels like a hard little lump) move across your stomach on its own.

Yeah, I have been feeling him move for quite some time, but this is the first time I have ever been able to feel specific body parts. Wow, it is so amazing, really is, most incredible thing I have ever seen, felt, or experienced. And I have had some really crazy experiences! :D
I learned how to graph line equations written in standard form on the coordinate plane.
Or, at least, that's what I hope my students learned......

I did 23 shots between midnight (officially 21) and 1:30 am (last call)…. That’s was bad (and STUPID)! I’m surprised I didn’t die. I did however manage to get up and go to my 8 o’clock class in morning!

I still can't even stand the smell of it....
When I visit my parents, I normally sit on the couch while my dad reads a magazine in a recliner and my mom reads the mail or newspaper at the kitchen table. Good times.
I learned that when I visit them in August, my Dad and I are going on a hiking/backpacking trip (I'm not sure where we're going yet). Booya!
I learned today that Hurricane Dolly is coming for my town (I thought it was, but it's now been confirmed) and we're scheduled to get 15-20 inches of water and 75+ mile/hour winds over the next two days. Fun tines! :D
No worries, the cats and I live on the second floor and we can retreat to the window-free bathroom if need be. Plus I've got 3 bottles of wine and 1/2 bottle of vodka if things get really bad ;D

Actually, standard form is Ax + By = C. y = mx + b is slope-intercept. But at least you weren't sleeping during class!
