What does it feel like when you first feel the baby move?

Okay, I have been feeling strange things but I am not sure if it is the baby or not.  It seems to only happen when I have to pee.  And when my bladder is full I sometimes feel this rubbing...kind of...like a finger on the inside strokes against my bladder.  It makes me have to pee worse.  But as soon as I pee it goes away.  And it doesn't always happen when I have to pee.  Is that the baby?  If it is, what in the world is he doing in there to feel like that?  It is a very bizarre sensation, never felt anything like it before.

It sounds like you are feeling the baby move.  The full bladder creates more pressure in there so you can feel the movement easier.

How far along are you?  When they first start moving, it feels like a little gas bubble...lol...seriously.  You don't have feet and elbows visible on the outside til you get closer to delivery.  Its fun though! When they get bigger you can palpate their body, rub their back, tickle their feet and stuff...

to me it felt like a little flutter...or hiccup inside of your belly...it was quick in the beginning and it shocked me and made me cry..thinking omg there is really a baby in there! :)>>>

Ok so your uterus is free floating, suspended by ligaments inside you so it moves around, Im assuming you are between 8-12 weeks along?  When your bladder is full it is probably rubbing against your uterus, thats why the feeling goes away after you pee.  Just like Vegansapien said when the baby starts moving it feels like gas.  That little guy is actually bouncing around in there!  So exciting though isn't it?

Actually I am at 20 weeks.  I have probably been feeling it for awhile, but I just had no idea what it was and assumed it was gas.  But that I know that feeling is the baby moving, I am realizing that I feel it all of the time!  Every once in awhile he seems to give me a good strong kick.  Right now it is difficult to tell if it is him or gas, but if it is him, he is going to be a good soccar player!

i thought it felt like  a little spider or mouse running around inside. at first its definitely questionable, but pretty soon you will realize that yes, its him moving around!

i remember last time seeing the bottom of his foot through my skin....pretty amazing. that will be coming up for me soon!

20 weeks yea!  I loved it at this point you can really feel the baby move and you are really starting to show.  Do you know what you are having?  It was a suprise with my daughter,  but with my son the second time I found out.  Well actually I didn't want to know,  so my husband asked the ultrasound tech just to tell him becouse he was begging me to know and she told him she couldn't becouse of the whole HIPPA thing and I thought my husband was going to choke her so I said OK.  My daughter was with us she was 5 at the time and the tech asked her if she could guess and she said it was a boy becouse it had no hair. HA!

First off, congrats on your baby! :)

For me, it felt like a flutter at first, kinda like a butterfly. Then, as they grew it was more of a rolling sensation and you could actually see them shift.

Congratulations Snowqueen!  :) Do you know for sure that it's a little snowprince?  ;)

The first time I felt Jesse move, I was at work & he kicked me. LOL I don't remember how far along I was but it took my by surprise & I froze dead in my tracks, then I got all emotional & started bawling. It was awesome! A moment that I will never forget.
Later on, it is soooo cool to watch your whole belly shift.

Enjoy your pregnancy!  :)>>>

I remember it as absolutely unmistakably the baby moving and I never had a doubt, not even the first time.  I don't agree with it feeling like gas, then I never have felt gas moving around in there even if I have heard it!

My first...he was a vigorous, constant kicker.  We used to sit at night and watch him poke up a foot and we would rub his feet.  He got to where he seemed to want that and would push and push a foot out until one of us rubbed it.  His large feet were quite apparent when he was pushing a foot out.

My mom went and bought these tiny bootie socks for him.  I said, mom the baby's feet are already bigger than that.  She said I was being silly, it would have small feet and I disagreed, buying the largest baby booties I could find.

The day he was born, birthing rooms were new and we had the only one in the hospital.  My mom and MIL were waiting with my brother and his girlfriend and my mom's best friend.  Sheesh, it was a party without me.  We were getting close and the nurses shooed them all out of the room.  My mom tells the group that I have no pain tolerance (turns out it is the reverse) and that I will begin screaming when the baby begins to emerge and that is how they will know the baby is out.  Well, I didn't scream, I didn't yell, I mean I didn't even peep!  They hear a baby crying and my mom says she'll go and look in and see if it is "our" baby.  Of course, Drew had been born, ENORMOUS feet and all, at 8#6oz.  My mom went back out, I understand, and explained "WE HAVE A BOY AND HIS FEET ARE HUGE!!!!"  Ummm I told you mom?

Drew has always had large feet.  Today he wears a size 18 and I hear he still loves to have his feet rubbed.

I don't remember the first time I felt the boys... but I would say it felt like having gas... now when I get gas rolling around in my belly I'm like "awwwwwwww" oh wait that's not a baby that's just gas! haha.

When I was super big I'd lay down, or heave myself over (with all my support pillows), the boy on the bottom would start to kick and fuss.  A fist fight in my belly, man did that hurt.

I'm attaching a pic of my belly, about two weeks before the boys were born... it's my impression of a whale!

wow, used to be...I always thought that if I decided to have kids...I really wanted twins or triplets (I know you cant controll that too much naturally) .... after seeing this picture....THAT LOOKS LIKE IT HURTS!!!! have you ever been pregnant with just one baby before? Or one of the moms from your twin group? Does it feel much differnt or more painful than a single baby?
