Zeitgeist
has anyone seen this movie? i jsut watched most of it and had to stop at about the 1h20m point because it was making me anxious and sick to my stomach.
for those who don't know, the first part is about religion and how it is based around astrology and connected many astrology things to things in the bible--like the 3 wise men were the 3 stars in orion's belt, and things like that.
the second part.. is all about 9/11 and takes up the majority of the film. it makes cases against everyone involved, and shows evidence that the WTC towers were bombed and talked about how tower 7 went down like a regular demolition but was blamed on the terror attacks even though it was never touched. Talks about how the government uses "Terror" "terrorism" "9/11" and other key words to keep people "in line" so they have the freedom to do what they want (go to war).
the third part i guess is about money and the IRS and banking systems. i really didn't watc much, i stopped shortly after part 2 ended, because it ended with a speech from JFK and then made a strong suggestion that he was assassinated because he wanted to fix how the government manipulates its citizens.
i was just wondering if anyone else has seen this. if not and you want to the link is http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ . it is free, just go to the link and it starts playing.
Yeah I started watching this the other day but only got through the first 3 shorts on youtube...not sure what to think yet...
i'm watching right now. i'll let you know my complete opinion after.. that will hopefully be today..
i think this stopped buffering after minute 59 :(. did anyone else have that problem.
..just after i got all cozied up in my chair with a snack :'(
i didnt have that problem. i watched it earlier in the day though, maybe that has something to do with it. but where you stopped, i pretty much stopped 15-20 minutes after that
just moved the laptop onto the bed and watched the whoe thing. I think this movie is VERY important for people to watch...and honestly....it makes me want to run off a live on some island in the pacific
yeah, i think one of the things that creeped me out the most was the end of that part--where they were playing that speech by JFK and showing the video of the day he got assassinated... it just gave me that really strong feeling like the people doing the movie were trying to say he was killed to "shut him up"
watch the part you missed...its the most important
fed reserve controlling everything and the plan for a world government, curretn american union, micro chips in people....i dont like it at all

my thoughts exactly.
i thought this movie was very good BUT it is also one of those things that you have to wonder weather you can believe THEM. but then again, i don't see them having any ulterior motive..
i would really like my dad to see this movie because i think he would like it a lot, but i don't know weather he would get mad about me recommending it because he is a BIT of a religious fanatic (though, he has been very open to alternative views b/c he has gone from being brought up w/ no religious background to buddhist to protestant to orthodox to catholic... )
i have always seen a lot of organizations (education, gov, religion, etc.) as having an underhanded MO yes i have always had some kind of weird relationship with them as well. for instance, i chose to perpetuate my schooling for at least another four years after hs (and, no, i don't believe that college education is ANY better than our k-12 public school system), i consider myself partly religious (though very liberal in my beliefs and affiliations)... i guess the government is always something that i have really had no trust in, though.
ugh, and the money... i have for a long time wanted to get out of our monetary system... yet still ave no ideas short of running off and living on an island/in the forest...

i will do that tomorrow (going t bed now). i just had to stop because i was startng to feel really sick watching it
I watched this movie a few days ago and I'm not convinced. There's a lot of manipulation going on on this video, they don't let you see all the facts and they don't provide sources for a lot of their information. Go to the clarifications and corrections page. Some of their mistakes are about key points in their argument. I wonder why they didn't just make the corrections in the video, it's a very simple layout so they could have. I also wonder to what extend they are mistakes. I have not found a way to contact the film makers to ask for their sources either. I think just like everyone else in the game of politics they are mixing truths with untruths.
Just my opinion.

Most things nowadays make me want to do this.
Hi Hespedal,
I was reading the thread and your statement, "ugh, and the money... i have for a long time wanted to get out of our monetary system... yet still ave no ideas short of running off and living on an island/in the forest..." kind of struck a chord with me. I'm not overly religious either, and definitely not Catholic; not that I'm against Catholics, just not into organized religion. Anyway, a couple of years years ago I was feeling the way you described and began reading quite a bit about St Francis of Assisi, he was from a very wealthy family and walked away from it all to live out his life in service to God and others. I just find his example to be challenging and rewarding in so many ways. Two good books I would like to recommend if you get time to read them are The Lessons of Saint Francis: How to Bring Simplicity and Spirituality into Your Daily Life by John Michael Talbot and The Way of St. Francis: The Challenge of Franciscan Spirituality for Everyone by Murray Bodo. Both are very good and are available at Amazon.

thanks for the book recommendations.. i'll stick them on my list (honestly, being a hermit was my real plan for at least a year of my life)
Darn it. I thought this post was going to be about the Smashing Pumpkins new CD. :D
Ditto! Which by the way is good. =D
