Mouth burn help.

About a week ago, I burned the roof of my mouth and it is taking forever to heal. In fact, it doesn't seem to be healing at all. I have cut out acidic foods and spicy foods that can aggravate it, but is there anything I can do that will expedite the healing process? Does anyone know of any foods or natural remedies that will help or any other foods that I should avoid? Thank you.
Oh that can be so painful. Sorry I don't have any remedies that will help but I hope it heals soon.
Sorry to hear about that Storm :( I don't know if this is much help but VITAMIN C works wonders for healing. If it were me - I would be amping up the fruit, and vitamin C rich vegies. And as much as you want to - stop touching/feeling the burned area, leave it alone and it will heal.
I've burned the roof of my mouth lots of times (anxious to down some hot soup/coffee/tea) and it HURTS!! So I feel your pain - try to lay off the extra hot (heat) foods and take care :)
OK this is a little gross but I use it. Hold a teaspoon or so of olive oil in your mouth for a minute or so, twice a day. It would have helped more if we'd caught it sooner but you can try. I find it helpful for when I've badly burned my tongue.
Thanks guys. It's really sucked, other than the fact that I've had a great excuse to consume large quantities of soy ice cream! :D
I say suck on some ice.
Becareful of eating or drinking anything cold before that's healed.

Not sure I agree with your detective work there, startaurus... Whenever I have a roof-of-da-mouth burn, sucking on things makes it more agitated. Italian ice, escpecially. So, Storm, I wonder if the soy ice cream is more of a hinderance than a help.
Other than that, I say soft, cool foods. :)
Whenever I burn or cut the inside of my mouth I wash my mouth with very salty water every night before I go to bed unless it heals. Burns/cuts take forever to heal because the mouth has so many different bacterias and it's always wet... the salt seems to speed the healing process. *shrugs* I really don't know WHY why, but it works for me.
