I went from eating five times a day to once or if I am lucky twice. Its been so long that I have been eating like this which is horrible that even worse my body is use to it so Im very weak. I have been eating "chicken" soup. I cant swallow anything thick but im going to go make a smoothie.

My bff was born w/ a serious jaw defect, and she's had 5 surgeries where she's had to have her jaw wired shut for months at a time. You can literally blend up anything. She's an omni, so when she was craving McD's, she blended a quarter pounder. Not that I'm advising you to eat meat, but you can literally blend ANYTHING. If you're craving spaghetti, blend the hell out of the cooked noodles and sauce. It doesn't look pretty by any means, but it's gonna taste the same. Good luck, and try adding nut butters to your smoothies, you need to keep up your calories!

My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I add all kinds of stuff to fruit smoothies.  Beans add protein and texture.  Great Northern beans work well because they have a very smooth texture and not a lot of flavor.  You can also add various veggies, especially greens.  Ripe fruit covers up a multitude of flavors.

I also second the idea that you can throw just about anything in the blender with some extra liquid.

are you adding liquids? You have to add a lot of liquid to make it work. Add a bunch of soymilk, and some soy protein powder if you've got any.

i went through the same experience back in march when i had gum surgery. the full recovery was over a month but i had to follow a strict diet regime. nothing warm/hot, nothing crunchy/hard, only soft and liquid foods.

i drank plenty of protein smoothies throughout the day. so definitely buy protein powder! i used a lot of bananas, hemp/soy protein powder, peanut butter and other nut butters, flavored hemp and soy milks, soy ice cream (purely decadent = let your imagination explore!) soy yogurt. also fun add ins i would mix and match with: sweet potato or pumpkin puree, chocolate chips, dates, mangos, pineapple, avocado, brownies and cookie dough, coconut milk or coconut, granola, flax, anything really calorically dense.

you could also try a soup and then pureeing it? like a split pea, black bean or a creamy avocado soup? i'll try to rememember a few things i ate and report back. i wish you best of luck with recovery!
