I have tendinitis in my knees as well....my doctor never suggested anything to help it though....I just have to be careful....like, I can't really bend down to the ground with my knees without a slew of horrible sounds and slight pain....I've had it since I was little...
I'd recommend you look into 'cho-pat' straps....I've been using them since they first came out (mid 90's), and you could only get them from specialized sporting goods stores....
Here's what they look like:
This is the basic/original one, notice how it puts pressure/support onto the patellar tendon

Here's the newer/more heavy duty one (you now see on tons of the basket ball players). The top strap adds further support/stability to the patella

If you google cho-pat, you'll get various websites that sell them, and be able to compare prices.
here's to speady relief!
I would totally advise using the cho-pat braces- they work fantastically well. If you're any athlete of any sort, the newer, black ones have worked wonders for me, especially when I run.
I wonder if that would help my stability issues even tho my tendon has been split and moved around. Interesting.
thanks everyone I will have to try it. I have a few specialized closed patella braces that work and stop the pain for my exercising, but never tried that strap.
