I freaking love LIDL. They have the BEST soy yogurt (Soywell) I have ever eaten and their Hazelnut and Almond granola bars (Linessa) are DELICIOUS! The soy yogurt is 99 cents for a 4-pack and I think 1,18 for a box of 8 granola bars.
It's really hard to find vegan foods where I live in Spain, so LIDL is like a godsend. Thank you, Germany!
I'm not in Europe at the moment :' ( but when we were, LIDL and ALDI saved our arses many times over with their ridiculously cheap food. Thank you, Germany, indeed! : )
If only the Lidl in the UK kept the same stuff as yours.....I'm sure it doesn't though.
Although it is great for cheap good quality dark chocolate that just so happens to be vegan. However, I can't justify going to Lidl and waiting in their huuuuuuuggggge queues just for chocolate that I shouldn't be eating.
eta: although now I'll be tempted to check just in case!
I often shop at my local aldi for the low priced fruits and veggies, they have a good selection of herbs and spices. Chocolate you say? ;)
Hey kikik, good to see you again!
Yeah, chocolate is good at lidl. I remember seeing some article in one of theose crappy women's mags once (you know take a break, chat or some such mag) mentioning that the chocolate and wine and cheeses at lidls are actually very good quality brands, they manage to sell them so cheap because they're unknown brands here in the UK. I bet aldi would have imilar stuff.
Not that I'm suggesting you go out and buy lots of chocolate or anything! ;)
oooh lidl is awesome. there is one right near by bf's apartment, where i'll be living as well in a few months. when i was there in august i was thrilled by all of the inexpensive food. the produce section is frustrating because it changes from day to day, it seems, and there were lots of fruit flies, but at least it was cheap!! i'll have to try to soy yogurt when i go back.
Lidl=Aldi? Man, I should know that, I live here. :\
as far as I'm aware, Lidl and Aldi are both German brand supermarkets, founded by two brothers. They're not the same, but follow the same store format and pretty much the same pricing philosophy.
And neither of them exist at the bottom of the world : (
Hey kikik, good to see you again!
Thanks :)
Hope you are well
Got me hands on some fairtrade Ghanian 70% dark chocolate ...
Not that I'm suggesting you go out and buy lots of chocolate or anything! ;)
oops - you weren't?!
