I just scored a....... (a thread about finding great deals!!!)

I  love to brag about how little I paid for something. Like my $2.00 boots, or $14 Tofurkey dinners. This thread is dedicated to all the good deals we find!  8-)

I just scored (2) three pound tubs of Earth Balance for $2.99!

At this gross discount grocery store which hardly has anything vegan, they had these HUGE ASS tubs of EB (commercial size?) for $2.99 each. I did not realize until I got home that she only charged me for one, and NO I did not go back to correct her error! It is sort of far away (now I'm sure karma will bite me in the ass at some point). But jeez.....6 pounds for 3 bucks! I need to take a picture so you can appreciate how large these are. They are bigger than my head.

Anyone else get any good deals lately?

ppc, you're just rolling in good deals! share a little! ; )

Avocados have been on sale for $1 a piece, and I've been buying them up like crazy! I'm putting avocado on everything I can think of. Or just eating it plain. I love avocados! (This almost turned into a "reason to smile" post!)

Oh, and my co-op had Almond Breeze on sale for $1.79 a carton--I love when I can get it for cheaper than $2!

Rival 10-cup rice cooker brand new, never used for $10 off craigslist.  She got 4 of them as wedding gifts, lol
Now I can recycle the crappy broken microwave rice cooker I've been nursing along for 3 years!  ;)b

You have faux meats at the 99 cent store??  :o
Here they only sell them in the pricey HFS chain and cost boocoos. 2 little veggie burgers for 3.50 Euros. I wish I were kidding.

Whoa! You guys get some cheap stuff! Avocados for $.25? I'm happy when I can get them on sale for $1! I've never seen fake meats under $3. You guys make me want to move to where you are to find cheap foodz! No wonder I'm spending a hundred bucks a week on groceries. :(

Food prices are one of the thing I really miss about living in California.  I couldn't buy an outhouse-sized peice of property  in my hometown for what I paid for my house though.  Those prices are unreal!!  It would cost me about $10 to get the produce you listed.

That's the downside. However, the woman we visited discussed her utility bills, and hers were a fraction of ours--including water!!!!! She was paying next to nothing for water, and her water has to be brought in from an outside source! WHAT???

3L bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil for $14.99  (a 1 liter bottle of EV olive oil is typically $7 here, I couldn't pass up the chance to get 3 liters for the price of 2 L!)

2 lb pakage quick rise yeast for $3.69 (those little 3 packets packages are usually $1.50, this is a steal!)  My bread maker is going to get a LOT more use now...
